I like to think of myself as a disciplined shopper. I test, I evaluate, I move on. I do not get emotionally attached to basics. And yet, somehow, Quince keeps pulling me back in.

It started with one purchase. Then another. Then a backup color. Suddenly, the pieces that survived seasonal closet clean-outs, trend cycles and overpacked suitcases all had the same label. What I love most about my Quince arsenal is that the prices sit comfortably below designer territory, but the fabrics feel top tier. Which means when something works, it honestly, really works.

Below, the Quince pieces that broke my no-repeat rule and why they’ve secured permanent residency in my wardrobe.

Dress
Original Photos by Deena Campbell/Quince

I first wore this cotton-cashmere ribbed midi on a day when I had zero patience for real clothes but still needed to look like I tried. It was cold, my calendar was full and I needed something quick and easy. This dress was exactly that. The knit is soft but doesn’t quite veer into loungewear. I’ve worn it with boots and a long coat, with sneakers and a tote, even belted for dinner.

  • Material: 51 percent organic cotton, 25 percent lenzing ecovero viscose, 19 percent nylon, 5 percent cashmere
  • Sizes: XS to XL
  • Colors: four
  • Care: machine-wash cold

This cashmere sweater is the kind of sweater I reach for on repeat—so much so that I’ve stopped pretending it’s just a seasonal piece. The knit has that soft, cozy feel you want in colder months, and the cardigan style is perfect for looking polished or lounge-y. It’s fitted but structured, and comfortable enough for a full day of meetings or travel. I love that it looks just as good with tall boots and a coat as it does as a beach coverup on a chilly summer day, which, in my book, makes it a true wardrobe workhorse.

  • Material: 100 percent Grade-A Mongolian cashmere
  • Sizes: XS to XL
  • Colors: seven
  • Care: hand-wash cold

People tend to underestimate a good flat, but the right shape changes everything. I’ve owned plenty of loafers that felt stiff, too flat or oddly bulky, and they can throw off an otherwise solid outfit. So I told myself the next pair had to be equal parts polished and practical. Enter the Quince Italian leather Horsebit Loafer Mule. The Italian leather isn’t  flimsy and the classic horsebit detail gives it structure without leaning stuffy. The 8-millimeter heel adds just enough lift to feel intentional, while the slip-on design makes it easy when I’m in a rush. I’ve been wearing them with tailored trousers and straight-leg denim, and lately with a knit midi dress.

  • Material: Italian calf leather upper
  • Sizes: 5 to 11
  • Colors: four
  • Care: wipe with a soft dry cloth

Honestly, writing about this skirt reminded me that I need it in another color. This silk maxi skirt is one of those rare pieces that looks elevated but is half the price of most designer versions. The silk has that fluid, skims-the-body drape you want from a true maxi, but the fact that it’s washable makes it far less precious than it sounds. I wear it with a slouchy knit and boots during the day, then swap in a sleek tank and heels at night. It moves beautifully and packs well when traveling.

Fast Facts

  • Material: 100 percent mulberry silk in a satin finish
  • Sizes: XS to XL
  • Colors: seven
  • Care: hand- or machine-wash cold in delicate or gentle cycle
