I hated wearing a full face of makeup in the summer. For years, I looked for a setting spray to stay hydrated and lock in my look for hours. I was aware of Kopari's impressive SPF bodycare collection, but most recently, came across their Sunglaze Sheer Setting Mist Face Sunscreen. The viral product promises a glass-like finish and SPF 50 protection. I wanted to see if the claims were true and decided to test it out. Can it really turn me into a glass skin stan? Let’s find out.

What Is Kopari Sunglaze Sheer Setting Mist Sunscreen?

Kopari Sunglaze Sheer Setting Mist is an ultra-fine mist that works to hydrate your skin and set your makeup. It’s formulated with hyaluronic and polyglutamic acids, which are meant to deeply hydrate and lock in moisture. The product also contains vitamin C to brighten and vitamin E to protect against sun damage. Let’s not forget it has SPF 50 care of avobenzone, homosalate, octisalate and octocrylene—chemical compounds known to absorb UV. The setting mist sunscreen can be used over skincare or makeup as a final step, or, used throughout the day for a boost of hydration.

My Review of Kopari Sunglaze Sheer Setting Mist Sunscreen

Kopari

First, per the directions, you’re supposed to shake the bottle and hold it about 8 to 10 inches away before applying an even layer to the face. I found it was easy to spray a generous amount on the skin. It was also gentle and left a nice soft finish on my skin. I’ve used sunscreens and setting sprays in the past where they felt heavy and thick, but this mist is a nice contrast. It dried quickly but never felt sticky or greasy.

Now, let’s talk about the glow. The clear bottle showcases a formula that is very shimmery, but I was surprised to see it wasn’t overwhelmingly glittery. Infused with ethically-sourced mica, my skin—more specifically my cheekbones—looked radiant. It reminded me of the glass skin trend that was popular in 2024 and recently had a resurgence (even inspiring another dewy look ‘pool skin’ this year). The glow lasted a few hours even before I added a second spray of the mist to hydrate my skin. I’m just happy I didn’t look like I dipped myself in glitter and gave more a natural glow with or without makeup.

Glow aside, it kept my makeup in place. As mentioned, it leaves a soft finish, so I didn’t experience any piling, caking or melting. Since it’s made with hyaluronic and polyglutamic acid, reapplying it didn’t feel heavy on the skin. It was nice prepping, refreshing *and* resetting without irritating my face. It’s recommended to reapply every two hours or 40 minutes after swimming or sweating, which honestly keeps me accountable to reapplying sunscreen even while wearing makeup.

The mist sunscreen also has a scent. I was expecting that traditional strong sunscreen smell and got a citrusy fragrance instead. It’s not overwhelming and fades away after a few minutes. It’s very refreshing—a far cry from the slab of sunscreen my mom used to put on me as a child.

The Bottom Line: I Don’t Mind Applying Makeup If This SPF Setting Spray Is Around

I give this setting mist sunscreen a 96 out of 100. I was genuinely impressed by the lightweight formula and how my skin never felt (or looked) greasy after multiple spritzes. It left a hydrating and sheer finish that complemented my makeup, or just gave a boost to my skincare routine. As a combo girlie, it didn’t look too balmy or oily in the T-zone. It also gave off a natural radiant glow that I think all skin tones can try out. Oh, and the glow? It lives up to its Sunglaze name.

I would say you definitely need multiple sprays to get the super dewy appearance, and if you’re on the oilier side, this mist might not be your cup of tea. I also didn’t mind the melon scent, but some might find it too strong or uncomfortable for their sensitive noses. I wouldn’t say completely forgo your go-to face sunscreen, but this will offer a nice glow, hydrated skin and prevent your makeup from melting.
