Beauty lovers have been waiting years for the return of Marc Jacobs Beauty. Ever since the beloved line disappeared from shelves in 2021, fans have been hoarding eyeliners, rationing lipsticks and wondering whether the brand would ever come back. Now it’s finally here—and after testing some of the hero products from the relaunch, I’m happy to report that the new Marc Jacobs Beauty feels every bit as playful, fashion-forward and performance-driven as its predecessor.
The collection taps into everything people loved about the original line: bold pigments and eye-catching packaging. But this time around, there’s a greater emphasis on wearability. The products are easier to use, more intuitive and designed to fit seamlessly into our (already hectic) beauty routines. After testing the Born Star Eyeshadows, Drawn This Way Eyeliners, Heart On Lipsticks and Legally Bronze Bronzer, a few clear standouts emerged.
My Review of the New Collection
The eyeshadows may have the most fun packaging in the collection. Each shadow comes housed in a star-shaped compact with a pale green metallic finish that feels so futuristic. But the real story is the texture. The formula starts with a bouncy cream feel before transforming into a soft powder finish on the lid. I tested Delete That, a matte burgundy shade (my favorite!) and Hater, a matte chocolate brown shade and was impressed by how easily both shades blended. The pigmentation was immediate, but the formula remained forgiving enough to diffuse with a fingertip. Unlike many cream shadows, these didn’t feel sticky or heavy. Once applied, they stayed smooth throughout the day without obvious creasing or patchiness. The finish strikes a nice balance between statement-making and wearable, making them ideal for anyone who wants impact without spending 20 minutes blending.

I expected to love the eyeshadows and liners, but I didn’t expect to become obsessed with the lipsticks. Heart On Lipstick sits somewhere between a traditional lipstick and a nourishing balm. The formula combines saturated pigment with a soft finish that makes lips look healthy and plush rather than overly glossy. I tested Mutuals Only, a deep warm brown shade and Burning Up, a deep dark brown shade and both delivered impressive color payoff while remaining incredibly comfortable to wear. Thanks to ingredients like cherry oil, hyaluronic acid and biomimetic peptides, the lipstick feels hydrating throughout the day rather than drying like many traditional bullets. The heart-shaped packaging is undeniably cute, but the texture is what won me over.

Bronzer can be tricky. Too often, formulas look muddy, patchy or overly orange, especially on brown skintones. Fortunately, Legally Bronze avoids all three pitfalls. I tested Medium Plus and immediately appreciated how lightweight and blendable the formula felt. The powder diffused effortlessly into my skin, creating believable warmth rather than obvious contour lines. What stood out most was the finish. The talc-free formula gives skin a soft-focus effect that looks more like a natural sun-kissed glow than makeup. It can also be layered for additional definition without becoming heavy or streaky. And, of course, I loved the daisy-adorned compact. Classic Marc Jacobs!

If I had to recommend one product from the relaunch, it would be the Drawn This Way Long-Wear Waterproof Gel Eyeliner. The formula strikes a difficult balance: creamy enough to glide on without tugging, yet durable enough to stay put once it sets. The brand describes it as combining the glide of a kajal with the longevity of a waterproof pencil, and that’s exactly how it performs. I tested Hit It, a dark blue/black, and Do Better, a golden/brown shade, and both delivered saturated color in a single swipe. The real test came after application. Once the liner set, it barely budged. I experienced no smudging, migration or fading throughout the day, even during humid weather. The flexible gel texture also made it easy to diffuse immediately after application for a softer look before it locked into place. The star-adorned caps feel distinctly Marc Jacobs, but the formula itself is what makes this product special. It’s one of the strongest eyeliners I’ve tried this year.

Final Thoughts on Marc Jacobs Beauty
Many beauty relaunches rely heavily on nostalgia. This collection wisely avoids that trap. Instead of trying to recreate the past (albeit a great past!), the brand has returned with formulas that feel current, thoughtfully developed and genuinely competitive in today’s crowded beauty landscape. The packaging still delivers the fashion fantasy longtime fans remember, but the products themselves feel more sophisticated and user-friendly. If you’re wondering where to start, I’d recommend the Drawn This Way Eyeliner first, followed closely by the Heart On Lipsticks. But truthfully, every product I tested felt carefully considered and well executed. For a relaunch that beauty fans have spent years waiting for, that’s exactly what you want to see.
