In an era where reboots are everywhere, it feels like nearly every beloved TV show has been given new life. But one iconic drama has yet to receive the revival treatment—and now, one of its stars is shedding light on why. The show? Desperate Housewives. The actress? Eva Longoria.

Longoria appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen and was asked who would take the “most convincing” to return for a reboot of the 2000s hit. Her response? “Marc Cherry, our creator.”

“He feels like we’ve exhausted the characters,” she added, before explaining, “Unlike Sex and the City, [which] was only like six episodes, eight episodes a year, we did 24 episodes a year for a decade.”

At first, her answer surprised me. Personally, I assumed it would be one of her former co-stars who’d need convincing—after all, it has been over a decade since the series wrapped.

Longoria played the iconic Gabrielle Solis in Desperate Housewives, which aired on ABC for eight seasons from 2004 to 2012. The ensemble cast also included Felicity Huffman, Marcia Cross, Teri Hatcher, James Denton, Ricardo Antonio Chavira, Nicollette Sheridan and Jesse Metcalfe.

As for the possibility of returning to Wisteria Lane, Longoria admitted there’s one key issue holding her back. “I can’t sleep with any more people on that street. I have slept with every person on the street, as did Nicollette Sheridan,” she told Cohen with a laugh.

A full-blown reboot might not be in the cards just yet but, according to Deadline, a reimagining of the series is officially in development at Onyx Collective. The new project, titled Wisteria Lane, comes from Kerry Washington’s production company, Simpson Street, along with 20th Television.

As Deadline puts it: "Wisteria Lane is described as a fun, sexy, darkly comedic soap/mystery in the vein of Desperate Housewives, set among a group of five very different friends and sometimes frenemies who all live on a picture-perfect cul de sac called 'Wisteria Lane.' On the surface, all the Wisteria neighbors are living the dream: beautiful homes, gorgeous families, shiny SUVs in the driveway. But behind those white-picket fences and smiling Insta posts are SECRETS."
