It’s not at all uncommon these days for a show or movie to have a resurgence—especially in the age of streaming. But while it’s pretty normal for one forgotten gem to sneak back into the spotlight (hi again, After the Sunset), it’s far less common for two films starring the same lead to land in the Top 10 at the same time. And yet, that’s exactly what’s happening right now on Prime Video.

Alongside fan-favorite titles like The Summer I Turned Pretty and the new Keke Palmer, Eddie Murphy and Pete Davidson comedy The Pickup, two Jason Statham action thrillers have clawed their way into the streamer’s Top 10. The movies? 2021’s Wrath of Man and 2011’s Killer Elite.

Let’s start with Wrath of Man. Directed by Guy Ritchie (so you already know it’s going to go hard), the film stars Statham as “H,” a new cash-truck driver in L.A. whose suspiciously precise response to a heist raises questions about who he really is—and what he’s truly after. The cast is stacked, too, with Holt McCallany, Josh Hartnett, Laz Alonso and Scott Eastwood all joining the action.

Then there’s Killer Elite, a 2011 thriller directed by Gary McKendry and based on the novel The Feather Men by Ranulph Fiennes. In this one, Statham stars alongside heavyweights like Clive Owen, Robert De Niro and Dominic Purcell. It’s another action-packed ride, with a very man-on-a-mission vibe and plenty of bodies hitting the floor.

Here’s the thing: while both films bring the tension, only one had me thinking, Yeah, I’d absolutely never want to cross this guy. And that’s Wrath of Man. Why? Because in that movie, Statham’s character chooses violence. He’s not coerced, he’s not cornered—he’s calculating. And when someone like that has a motive? Total force of nature.

That said, I’m streaming both. Because Statham in a revenge spiral and Statham in a covert ops showdown? That’s a double feature I can get behind.
