It’s a new month, which naturally means Netflix has rolled out a fresh batch of titles to add to our ever-growing watchlists. Among the cozy holiday flicks and feel-good seasonal movies, one new release has already pulled ahead of the pack and claimed the top spot on the streamer’s Top 10 list. Yes, it technically falls under the rom-com umbrella but with a crime twist that gives it a little extra sparkle. And viewers are clearly eating it up. The movie in question? Jingle Bell Heist.

The film follows Connor Swindells (Sex Education and Barbie) as Nick O’Connor, alongside Disney alum Olivia Holt, who plays Sophie Arbus, a hardworking department store employee juggling way too much responsibility.

When Sophia Martin (Holt) relocates from Philadelphia to London to care for her mom after a cancer diagnosis, she’s hoping the move will stretch her budget a little further. Instead, she finds herself working two jobs, permanently exhausted, and learning that her mother’s surgery won’t be covered by insurance.

Backed into a corner, she decides to rob her nightmare of a boss, Maxwell Sterling (Peter Serafinowicz). But just when her plan starts to crack, she’s caught by Nick O’Connor (Swindells), a former security consultant now making ends meet as a phone tech.

Instead of turning her in, Nick proposes they team up. He needs money to support his daughter after a tough divorce, and Sophia needs to keep her mom afloat. The result? An unlikely partnership built on shared desperation, a mutual desire to pull off the ultimate festive scam and maybe a spark of something more.

Even though Jingle Bell Heist is sitting around 60 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, audiences seem unfazed—in fact, they’re loving it.

“It’s not just ‘Netflix holiday rom-com good.’ It’s actually very, very good,” one RT commenter shared. Another praised its cozy throwback energy, saying, “So cute! Feels similar to a early 2000s RomCom.”

And if there’s one thing viewers can agree on, it’s that the plot goes harder than expected.

“THE PLOT TWIST AND ENDING OF NETFLIX’S JINGLE BELL HEIST IS SOOOO GOOD,” one user on X wrote. Another added, “Definitely didn’t see that plot twist coming,” while a third chimed in with, “#JingleBellHeist was SO good! Loved it! Cute little holiday romcom with a twist!”

The cast rounds out with familiar faces like Lucy Punch (Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events), Poppy Drayton (Charmed), Natasha Joseph (Skins) and Michael Salami (Supacell).

So if you’re craving a holiday movie that mixes cozy vibes with some unexpected turns, Jingle Bell Heist is officially streaming on Netflix.
