I’ve Seen the Jonas Brothers More Than a Dozen Times—But Last Night at MetLife Left Me Speechless

Did that *really* just happen?

As of writing, I've only had five hours of sleep and am still on an adrenaline rush from last night. Let me start by saying I'm one of the biggest Jonas Brothers fans. I have loved them for well over a decade (and even supported them when they broke up in 2013 to take on solo careers). As a teen, I have gone to arena tours, missed class for free concerts and waited outside their hotels. Then as an adult, I have jumped at the chance to see them at events through work (fun fact: I sang "Burnin' Up'" in front Kevin Jonas himself *and* did shots with Nick Jonas). If you can't tell, the Jonas Brothers' current tour Greetings From Your Hometown is a big deal for me.

But I wasn't originally supposed to see them at MetLife in New Jersey last night. Gasp, I know! I actually have a ticket to see them in Los Angeles, alongside my longest and other die-hard best friend on September 6. But another friend happened to have an extra ticket so of course I jumped at the chance to see them so close to my hometown. And as someone who has seen them over 15 times—maybe more I've lost count—I thought their last tour was a trip down memory lane, but boy was I wrong. THIS one was made for my teenage self.

The opening act was The All-American Rejects. My little emo heart was living for hits like "Give You Hell," "Dirty Little Secret" and "Move Along." But soon it was time for my three favorite brothers.

Before they ascended the stage, we were greeted with a montage of their career—the good and even the bad. I admired the stage, a small replica of George Washington bridge to represent their trips back and forth from Jersey to NYC. They opened the night with a crowd-favorite "Lovebug." And just a few seconds into the song, I saw a live proposal happening in the section next to me, which should've been a sign that more surprises were coming.

The boys went through their extensive catalog, even playing a few of their new songs like "I Can't Lose," "Love Me to Heaven" and "No Time to Talk." They wore bold, flashy outfits, my favorite being Joe's denim jacket sporting "Mom's Favorite New Jersey USA" on the back.

But it gets better: A few days ago Nick Jonas hinted the opening day was going to feature four special guests. My friends and I spent time before the concert theorizing who they can be, even hoping for a Miley, Demi or Selena reunion to shake the New Jersey stadium.

The guests were fun if expected at first. It started with Switchfoot, who sang their classic "Meant to Live" with the JoBros. (Fun fact: They are featured in the new album.) They also brought out Dean Lewis to sing their collaborative song "Loved You Better."

But it was there third surprising guest that had my jaw on the floor—Jesse McCartney. Yes, Y2K heartthrob Jesse McCartney came on the stage and the whole stadium lost their minds, me included. I never thought I'd have the chance to hear "Beautiful Soul" live and melt into a puddle when the boys sang with him. (For context, they opened for McCartney back in '07.)

Once he left the stage, we still were trying to wrap our heads around the final surprise guest. The JoBros continued to sing a few more classics like "SOS," "Sucker" and my absolute fave "Vacation Eyes" before taking a brief break and letting DJ Marshmallow take the stage.

The next half of the concert gave us songs I never heard live before (and made diehards *very* happy). They went through a Versus segment, where Nick and Joe sung snippets of their solo discography. And of course, Joe sung some DNCE hits like "Cake By the Ocean" and "Toothbrush."

There were more cute moments like Joe reading signs from fans, taking song requests ("Still In Love With You," anyone?) and even doing a gender reveal. Spoiler alert: It's a boy!

But there was one moment in particular that left me in tears. Yes folks, I was full-on sobbing. The brothers began talking about how they have to give all the credit to Disney for their growing success and the opportunity to be apart of the DCOM classic Camp Rock. The boys went right into singing "Gotta Find You," which I've seen dozens of times.

But I was not expecting for Demi Lovato to come out to perform "This Is Me" and "Wouldn't Change a Thing." They reportedly haven't been on good terms for a few years now and I didn't have any hopes of a reunion. So when I saw her grace the stage, happily singing with the boys, I lost it. I'm as much of a big Demi fan as a JB fan. The iconic moment taught me that sometimes you have to reconcile and reconnect with people again. As cheesy as it sounds, there's always room for a second chance.

I completely blacked out and the blurry photo is proof that my group and I were emotional wrecks. Boy, I can't wait to play the videos over and over again.

While I was trying to get my emotions together, the boys jumped into older songs like "Hold On" before doing one of their most popular hits, "Burnin' Up" with their former bodyguard Big Rob to rapping his verse.

They ended the emotional night singing "When You Look Me In The Eye," along with the rest of the Jonas family, including their parents, younger brother Frankie, Kevin's wife Danielle and his two daughters.

Overall, the concert was truly a trip down memory lane. If baby Chelsea can see herself now, she would not believe it. I can't wait to see them in less than a month (again) and wonder what new surprises they might have up their sleeve for the City of Angeles.

Greetings From Your Hometown started on August 10, 2025 and will run until November 14 at Uncasville, Connecticut.
