When it comes to TV shows, it’s honestly rare for anything to stick around for more than a couple of seasons. So many great series get cut short after just one, while long-running staples like Grey’s Anatomy, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and The Simpsons have basically become permanent fixtures of our screens. That’s why even getting to a fifth season is a pretty big deal. Still, that doesn’t make the news any easier when a show actually makes it that far and then gets canceled. If anything, it stings more because you’ve spent years getting invested. So when Netflix announced that its legal drama The Lincoln Lawyer would be coming to an end after five seasons, it makes sense that fans were very much not okay.
The cancelation news was confirmed via a joint statement from series creator and co-showrunner Ted Humphrey and fellow co-showrunner Dailyn Rodriguez obtained by Variety, and viewers wasted no time sharing how they felt.
