Here are PureWow, we’re all about comfort. We love our Oofos, Birkenstocks, Margauxs, Rothy’s and Crocs. Foot pain? We don’t have time for that. Between running through the subway and after-work functions to chasing down active kids and traveling, we’re on our feet a lot. One of the most underrated footwear styles we love to slip on as we dash out the door are clogs.

We know, we know—the healthcare worker- and culinary professional-approved silhouette often has a reputation for being unfashionable. But we’re here to flip the script with six pairs of the most comfortable clogs, vetted by editors who swear on their beloved pairs.

Cozy Earth is a PureWow reader and editor favorite, widely known for their bedding. However, their newly launched Lakeside clogs got a giant stamp of approval from PureWow’s vice president of editorial, Candace Davison.

In her review, she wrote, “Honestly, these clogs are as close to outdoor slippers as I’ve found, without being overtly plush. As someone with wide feet and high arches, shopping for shoes can be a pain, so I was delighted to see that these ran true to size (if not a little large) with a wide toe box. The cushioned suede footbed provided just the right mix of springiness and support, and it was just roomy enough that I could wear thick socks without squishing my toes.”

“At this point in life, I'm done apologizing for my orthopedically pleasing silly footwear and my fuzzy house clogs from Oofos are no exception,” says PureWow’s editor-in-chief, Jillian Quint. “The thick soles are the perfect blend of supportive and squishy, meaning I can wear them all day for work, laundry, dishes—whatever! And I honestly think they're pretty cute paired with jeans or sweats as house shoes.”

Like other Oofos shoes (we love their slides and sneakers, too), the sherpa mules have the brand’s OOFoam shock-absorbing technology, and a patented footbed to help promote natural foot motion.

Birkenstocks are quintessential clogs, so it’s no surprise that they’ve made this list. The shoes have the brand’s famed cork footbed plus an additional foam layer for extra cushioning. PureWow’s executive managing editor, Catrina Yohay, is wearing hers constantly.

“Call me crunchy, but I'll never part with my Boston clogs,” she says. “From daycare drop-off to grocery store runs, they really are the perfect grab-and-go shoes that are both cute and comfortable. It takes a few wears for the sole to break in, but once they mold to your feet, there's no sliding or slipping to contend with. You can't go wrong with the classic taupe shade, but the more surprising mocha hue is my current go-to.”

PureWow contributing editor Stephanie Meraz is a big fan of Rothy’s Casual Clog, whose chief attributes include machine washability, fabrication from recycled plastic bottles and merino wool weave.

“These are exceptionally made. From its contoured footbed to the luxurious knit fabric made from recyclable materials, there are so many minute details that play a factor in making this a standout clog,” she says. “It’s refreshing to have arch support AND a wide toe-box. The contoured footbed makes it feel like these shoes were made especially for me, and I just love how cushioned each step is. If you have wide(ish) feet like me, then I’d suggest ordering your usual size, but if your foot is narrow or you’re in-between sizes, consider opting for a smaller size.”

Clogs’ chief directive in life is to be comfy, but they can also be surprisingly fashion-forward. Take, for instance, Beek’s Woodpecker clogs. The shearling lining makes them super cozy, while the sleek leather upper makes them office-ready. They’ve also got a wooden platform heel and lots of studs.

“I’m obsessed with these clogs! I received them as a gift and wasn’t sure what to think at first, but they’ve quickly become my go-to shoes for a night out,” says PureWow’s senior social creator, Kate Kesselman. “They make me feel elevated and put-together while still being incredibly comfortable. I love the fur detailing because it feels so cozy and love the added height. I would definitely recommend sizing up if you prefer a little extra wiggle room.”

Zendaya put the internet in a tizzy earlier this year when she, known for her high-glam, high-effort red carpet looks, was spotted in a pair of Dansko Professional Clogs. But as it turns out, the Emmy-winning actress was on to something. Davison, who has taken many culinary classes, says that these shoes were a must have in the kitchen.

“Everybody wore them because they're easy to clean, and more importantly, your feet don't ache despite running around a kitchen for hours on end,” she says. “They got me through late nights in class and eight-hour shoot days when I worked in a test kitchen.” But, as Zendaya proves, you don’t need chef aspirations to borrow from their comfortable closets.
