How I Chose the Best Coats at Zara
To put together this list, I combed through all the coat options at Zara. My priorities were as much natural fabric or recycled materials as possible—something I highly value in my own wardrobe—while taking into account seasonal trends like suede and cropped silhouettes. Below are nine picks I think would be great additions.
1. Leather Short Trench
Zara
Short trench coats will be reigning this fall, and this cropped leather jacket fits right in. The shell is 100 percent pig leather, a material known for being soft and supple. I love the oversized lapel collar and front welt pockets. Sleeve tabs and button accents provide a finishing flourish.

Zara has a Disney collection and I am here for it. The capsule was created in partnership with British fashion stylist Harry Lambert, featuring—what else?—cartoonish silhouettes that still feel wearable. I’m talking Toon Town 3.0. This oversized, wool-blend coat has a shapely, notched lapel collar, ballooning sleeves and welt pockets. Not to mention, the exaggeratedly large buttons. However, the fact that it comes in black makes it feel like a closet staple zhuzhed up with a lively twist.

3. Windproof Midi Anorak
Zara
Normally, I like to go for a down jacket in the winter, but I think this midi anorak is one of the best coats at Zara. It’s got a polyester fill, but don’t let that fool you. This coat claims to withstand temperatures as low as 4 degrees. The high collar, adjustable drawstring hoodie, cuffed sleeves and fleece-lined pockets will keep you toasty for under $150. Now, I’m starting to rethink my panic-induced Canada Goose purchase.

The other Disney collab piece I loved was this dramatic faux fur number. It’s giving me furry friend vibes—the way it might feel to hug Donald Duck, Goofy or Pluto. Because of the roomy fit, the coat is one size, topped with shoulder pads and a rounded neckline. Also included are hip pockets and hidden front fasteners.

As I predicted, pea coat lengths are coming back around. This military-style double-breasted design is so polished—thanks in large part to the smart parallel rows of embossed gold buttons. Shoulder pads, front flaps and pockets finish off the look. I think this is a great length for petites wanting a coat that will hit a little lower on the leg, too.
