Most jewelry gifts are either painfully safe or suspiciously ambitious. Like, thank you for this heart pendant I will never wear, or this chunky statement necklace that feels like it came with a personality quiz. The bar is low. Which is why Don’t Let Disco’s long necklace sequence 02 feels like such a relief.
The necklace is beaded, yes, but not in the elementary school, arts-and-crafts way. It’s a 30-inch strand of rose quartz, citrine, labradorite, agate and rock crystal (basically a greatest hits album of pretty stones) that somehow manages to look both casual and expensive. Each bead is hand-knotted on silk, which means it actually drapes like jewelry, not like something you panic-bought at a museum gift shop.
