From the basketball jersey dresses of the 2000s to the more recent rugby and tenniscore trends ushered in by the likes of Taylor Swift and Zendaya, sports and fashion have long gone hand in hand. So it’s no surprise that the style set was quick to jump on one of the buzziest global sporting events of the year, making the shift to all things soccer for spring/summer 2026.

The FIFA World Cup—which is being held in the United States for the first time since 1994—kicks off June 11 and runs through July, but the trendsetters who dominate my feed have already started incorporating soccer- (or football, to the rest of the world) themed pieces into their looks. And I’m not talking about head-to-toe athleisure, here. Rather, all the cool girls are dabbling in what I’m dubbing the FIFArina aesthetic.

Much like the ballerina sneakers that helped spark it, the look is a sporty-chic blend of athletic edge and feminine frill. Think: flouncy blouses paired with striped shorts, jerseys layered with lace and windbreakers worn with the boudoir bottoms that are also having a moment right now. Consider it the second—and more footy-focused—coming of the Blokette Core trend that ruled a few seasons ago.

A bunch of brands are also taking part in the FIFA-fication of fashion. It Girl-favorite Miaou recently dropped an (already nearly sold-out) collab with Adidas, while Hollister just teamed up with Italian sportswear icon Kappa on sporty jerseys and WAG-worthy denim. Even Old Navy has gotten in on the action, offering a huge collection of officially licensed styles fit for fans of every team. Given that the summer of soccer is only just getting started, I have no doubt that the FIFArina trend is, too. Below, shop some sporty swag to give your own fits a World Cup-ready twist.

A soccer silhouette that’s perfect for the “Go sports!”-yelling fashionista who just wants everyone to have a good time.

Don these striped shorts with a frilly eyelet top and kitten heels for the ultimate FIFArina fit.

Featuring all-over smocking and a ruffled hem, this 100 percent cotton graphic tee—which is available in 13 different country colorways—puts a unique spin on the typical team T-shirt.

Puma put its sporty stamp on the aesthetic with this fun, flirty, tutu-esque bubble skirt that’s as fresh as it is nostalgic.

A cross between a ballet slipper and a soccer cleat, these slim-fitting, low-profile, glamorously shiny kicks are all you need to nail the trend—particularly in this pretty pink hue. Bonus: They’ll actually keep your feet comfy while you’re cheering on your team.

Speaking of… If you’re planning to rep team USA this summer, there’s no more stylish way to do so than with this collared jersey, emblazoned with retro graphics nodding to the last time the World Cup came to our shores.

UV-resistant and water-repellant, this funnel-neck windbreaker is designed to be functional on the field. But it would also look so cute paired with a polka dot slip skirt for a day strolling around the city. Just saying.

This lace-sleeve crop top with a playful cinched hem couldn’t embody the trend more. I see it styled with a flowy lace maxi skirt and matching yellow ballet sneakers to balance out the look.

Mix two iconic brands, one world-famous soccer logo and a dash of Italian panache, and you’ve got this standout unisex jersey (which you can totally wear oversized with some sleek capris or size down for a closer fit).

Mesh shorts, lace trim, can’t lose. Just keep in mind that these cuties are semi-sheer, so you might want to layer ‘em over something solid (like a bikini bottom, perhaps?).
