While it feels like anything but fall in L.A. right now thanks to hotter temps, that doesn't mean fall fashion trends aren't popping up. And one I'm seeing from Sunset Boulevard to Abbott Kinney is pretty eyelet fabrics. This delicate design is both airy and feminine, making it an ideal pick for the transition between seasons.

In fact, I recently stepped into an event and immediately noticed nearly half the room was dressed in either an eyelet top, dress or skirt, before I realized I had even chosen a sweater with peek-a-boo eyelet sleeves for my own outfit. Then, while discussing this trend over dinner in Santa Monica with a friend, she remembered she'd just placed a few eyelet pieces in her next Rent the Runway order, too. So whether its in subtle details like the lining on the skirt of L.A.-based influencer, Bridget Campbell, pictured below, or a full eyelet dress, there's no denying that this delicate fabric is everywhere right now.

Now, this isn't exactly a new trend, but since it started picking up this past spring in NYC, it totally makes sense that it's on the rise again as a transitional style. The airy fabric feels lightweight enough to be wearable in the Southern California heat, but totally fall-friendly, especially in darker colors (like this burgundy Tuckernuck dress, $298) or added onto jackets (like this sleek faux leather option, $178) at Anthropologie.

PureWow’s fashion editor Abby Hepworth previously shared her tips for donning the look: “The easiest way to rock the fabric is by playing with a sort of ‘opposites attract’ approach, balancing sweet lace with sturdy denim or canvas—or even leather.” She adds that one of her favorite things about eyelet is that it’s typically more durable than other lace variations. “I don’t ever feel that I need to be precious about it, despite the fact that it gives off a delicate vibe.”

Below, find ten eyelet styles to add to your own closet for fall, whether you're in L.A. or not.

Personally, I plan to pick up this lightweight tank from Madewell ASAP that will undoubtedly make me feel like I'm dressed for the season, but won't leave me sweating when I step outside to 80 degree weather. (P.S. To score it on sale, just sign up for a free Madewell Insider account, which will get you deals sitewide through Sept. 29.)

If there's any proof that the eyelet trend is meant for fall, it's in this faux leather jacket from Anthropologie. It's the perfect blend of feminine and edgy style and will undoubtedly earn you compliments every time you wear it.

I've been eyeing this relaxed fit top (which also comes in black, ivory and light yellow) from Everlane for the past few months, and now that it's half off, I'm definitely making space in my closet for it.

One PureWow editor swears Keds are about to make a major comeback, so I suggest getting ahead of the game and picking up this eyelet pair that will go with practically all of your fall outfits. (P.S. Score them on sale with code FALLFAVES at checkout.)

Equal parts trendy and chic, it's no wonder this Tuckernuck dress has earned tons of rave reviews celebrating its stunning look and versatility. (BTW, it comes in a gorgeous green eyelet color, too.)

I've been searching (and searching...) for the perfect white maxi skirt, and not only does this one check all the boxes for style, comfort (it has an elastic waistband) and fabric (100 percent cotton), but it's marked down by more than $150 right now. So needless to say, it's going straight to my cart.

This eyelet-adorned fleece looks *so* cozy, I just know I'd reach for it daily once some slightly cooler weather arrives. Plus, it features a bunch of zippered pockets, making it a great option to toss on before heading for a beachside walk with my dog or on a (not too hard) hike.

According to shoppers, these trendy ballet flats feel super sturdy and feature a touch of cushioning that makes all the difference when it comes to comfort, so you're sure to get plenty of wear out of them throughout fall and beyond.

For dreamy French girl fashion, Dôen is an obvious choice, including this eyelet-detailed top that features the prettiest, slightly puffed sleeves, a subtle ruffle at the neckline and 100 percent organic cotton fabric that's sure to feel breathable.

10. Abercrombie & Fitch Pull-On Pants

Abercrombie & Fitch

These Abercrombie & Fitch pants are designed with a partial lining so you don't have to add any extra layers to keep them from being see-through. Effortless and on-trend? You bet I'm picking these up ASAP.
