Back in the '90s, Princess Diana couldn't take a step without making headlines—so when she decided to really give folks something to talk about, the results were iconic. In 1994, the debut of the "Revenge Dress" seen 'round the world. A few years later, a sexy leopard-print swimsuit that made quite the statement.

Diana donned the one-piece in '97. It was one of the many bespoke bathing suits by the brand Gottex that she rocked while vacationing with her new beau Dodi Fayed in St. Tropez. Dotted with big cat spots and stripes, the piece was flashy, fun and flirty. For many, it signaled the start of her new era—one free from the strict confines of royal protocol.
