I love a little black dress as much as the next woman—sexy, classic and perfect for throwing on for a last-minute event or date night. IMO, everyone should have a decent stock of 'em in their closet. But, come summertime, you might want to take a walk on the lighter side—you know, like Reese Witherspoon recently did when she stepped out in a little white number with a romantic twist.

Yep, Witherspoon wore a romantic little white dress, or RLWD, at an event at Cannes this month, and everyone has been talking about it. The gathered puff sleeves, the princess-worthy square neckline, the sleek-yet-slightly-flared silhouette that flattered her figure so well. Perfect on every front—except one: At $2,500, the actress and producer's Alexander McQueen wool silk mini dress isn't exactly budget friendly. Fortunately, you can achieve a similar look with styles starting at $60.

Yes, you read that right. I found not one, but four RLWDs that not only give Reese's a run for its money, but are also totally worth ditching your LBD for this summer—including the must-have Hill House Home Matilda dress ($178; $111) that's currently on sale.

Besides the fact that this cotton mini looks super similar to the one Witherspoon was wearing in Cannes (minus the stitch detailing), you should buy this LWD because it's on rare sale. Plus, one shopper says that "the fit is fabulous, and the style of the dress is so flattering and very comfortable." I don't doubt it; after all, it features an empire waist, princess seams, and a smocked back panel for a snug, stretchy fit at the bust. And right now, you can take an *extra* 20 percent off it with code HAPPY4TH (along with a bunch more styles during the Hill House Home sale).

Cottagecore may be marked by its long, flowy frocks, but you can't tell me that this mini doesn't nail the romantic, frolicky vibe. This dress features short puff sleeves, a scoop neck, a button front and stylish scallop design details. It's also machine-washable, so you can wear it on repeat—which you'll definitely want to in the heat. But here's why one buyer is a fan: "[It's] so soft, lined and [has] pockets! I’m 6ft tall and XL was just beautiful...Perfect length." The fact that it's marked down an 50 percent right now also doesn't hurt.

Is your summer capsule wardrobe really complete without a swingy white mini? I don't think so, so I highly recommend making this organic cotton style yours. Reviewers say it's comfortable and stylish, and I bet you'll love the fact that it can be dressed up and down for different occasions. And, yes, the dress— featuring a snazzy smocked waistband and a tiered skirt—has pockets and is fully lined, so you won't have to worry about it being see-through. That said, you may want to pick it up in more than one color (you know, since it's only $60).

If you're as obsessed with eyelet embroidery as all the fashionistas in NYC, this RLWD is perfect for you. The fit-and-flare dress is made of cotton and features intricate and airy lace detailing throughout. One reviewer also mentions that it "comes with a slip that you can attach with very nice snap closures at the shoulder," so you can be that it'll have you covered (literally). The scalloped lace cuffs and button crewneck are just extra elegant finishing touches, making this mini a must-buy.
