Track Pants Are Trending for Spring—But They're Not the Ones You Wore in Gym Class

One of my favorite things about the season changing from winter to spring is the influx of fresh fashion trends. Already, I'm obsessed with the resurgence of T-strap shoes, bows still reigning supreme, ruching and feathers everywhere. But there's one 2025 trend started popping up last fall and has only snowballed, becoming the breakout fashion trend of spring 2026 (so far). Elevated track pants are the winners of transitional dressing.

Margot Robbie was spotted in a Chanel pre-fall 2026 pair during the Wuthering Heights press tour. Lacoste sent track pants down the runway for the brand's SS26 collection. Hailey Bieber went strutting in cobalt-blue Adidas. And in case you were wondering, these aren't the rough nylon styles that you might have sported back in your high school gym class. Rather, they've been reimagined with luxe materials and creative colors. These track pants feature stylish details that will have you wanting to wear them from the office to a dinner date (yes, really). Below, find seven pairs that I'll be shopping before they sell out.

Araminta James' track pants keep the sporty silhouette but the color is a lot more fun. Think about it. Doesn't the idea of doing a push-up wearing bubblegum-pink pants lessen the dread? Contrasting burgundy stripes give the bottoms their signature look, all while playing with unexpected colors. If you're feeling pink, you can pick up the coordinating sweatshirt ($159) and have the best outfit at the gym.

If you told me track pants could be office attire, I would have decided you were crazy. That is, until I stumbled upon Evereve's Tala track pants. Stunningly deceptive. Think elastic waistband, stretchy fabric, pockets and side stripe details. But also, pinstripes in a neutral white and tan. Paired with a tailored shirt, and you can breeze from the office to happy hour and no one would be the wiser to the fact that you're basically wearing pajamas.

ICYMI, sweatpant jeans are the latest hack going around—and track pants weren't immune to the makeover. rag & bone's rb Miramar collection includes the brand's track jeans, available in a light and faded black wash. The pants have an elastic waistband, contrasting stripes and pockets, but are printed to look like their much more uncomfortable denim counterparts. And, they're 100 percent cotton.

Reformation's stretchy organic poplin cotton is one of my favorite fabrics—it's  lightweight, airy and *so* incredibly comfy. So of course these pants that are constructed from it are hot on my radar. Personally, I can't get enough of this dark, forest green hue, but they also come in red and black. Plus, they're available in petite sizes, so no hemming is required for us shorter gals.

The cool girls are wearing DONNI. Selena Gomez, Kendall Jenner, Emily Ratajkowski, Jennifer Lawrence and Gigi Hadid are among the brand's many celebrity fans. While you can snag yourself a pair of DONNI.'s silk trousers, the terry cotton version is under $200 and much less fussy, complete with pockets, a drawstring waist and straight-leg silhouette. (And, yes, you can throw them in the washing machine.)

Sometimes you just have to go straight to the source. It doesn't get more original than Adidas' Firebird track pants, and this screaming red has dominated street style coverage. To keep it from being too on-the-nose, don't be afraid to style it with more tailored pieces, like button downs, blazers and sweaters, to give it an elevated feel.

Meghan Markle-approved brand Bleusalt also has a pair of track pants in their collection, dubbed the Cindy Racers. As I would expect from the Duchess of Sussex, Bleusalt is a Malibu, California, brand offering relaxed silhouettes and neutral color palettes. The Cindy is named after, and designed by, none other than Malibu resident and supermodel Cindy Crawford. It features a mid-rise, straight cut with pockets and a contrasting vertical stripe.
