Mother’s Day, bridal showers, girl dinners, laundry day—there’s really no event that isn’t improved with a charcuterie board. But when your to-do list is miles long (or you’re traveling from out of state), who has time to source and prep all of that meat and cheese, let alone sculpt salami into rosettes?

That’s where premade charcuterie boards come in. They’re convenient showstoppers, but there’s a wide variety in how they’re made—and what you get upon arrival. As a food editor, I’ve sampled nearly a dozen over the past few years, but there are a few brands I turn to again and again. And feel confident recommending.

How I Tested the Best Cheese & Charcuterie Boards

To get the PureWow seal of approval, a quality charcuterie board needed to offer (1) premium meats* you can’t easily find at your local grocer; (2) a mix of accompaniments to round out the board, so you didn’t need to source add-ons yourself; (3) pre-cut and portioned ingredients, saving you the prep work; (4) solid portions for the recommended serving size, at a reasonable price; and (5) an excellent mix of flavors and textures.

Overall, the scales were tipped toward flavor and convenience; any pick here should save you time and feel like a worthwhile investment, because let’s be real—charcuterie isn’t cheap. Especially when it needs to be shipped across the country to your door. Here’s what made the cut.

*And while yes, traditional charcuterie simply refers to an assortment of meat, our winners featured a mix of meat, cheese and other accoutrements (and in one case, no meat at all!). Because…variety.

The Best Charcuterie You Can Order Online, Taste-Tested & Reviewed

Best Overall Charcuterie Board

1. 1-800-Baskets Ready-to-Serve Charcuterie Board

1-800-baskets

If you’re hosting a bridal shower, baby shower or other event, look no further than this showstopper. As part of the 1-800-Flowers family, 1-800-Baskets offers reliable delivery services, quick turnaround and excellent packaging. We tested four ready-to-serve boards, and they each arrived without issue, right on time. But it was the sheer variety and quality of the spread that really got people talking.

While the 3-3-3-3 Rule (three meats, three cheeses, three starches and three accompaniments) works for an at-home board, at a party, it’s nice to have a range of options. That’s where this board excels. Depending on which tier you order, you’ll up to 38 foods, dips and spreads, all cut, prepped and provided on a wood serving tray for easy display. It took minutes to set this up—and even less time for people to start devouring it. There’s a solid mix of salty, tangy and creamy cheeses, as well as a range of salamis, sweet and savory nuts, fresh and dried fruit and other additions (like sea salt caramels and Dalmatia sour cherry spread) to enjoy. The pepper-coated salame and blueberry stilton were two standout favorites among taste-testers.

Oprah named Boarderie one of her Favorite Things for two years in a row, and after trying a board, I get why: The selection is scrumptious, and it’s delightfully customizable. The Classic Cheese & Charcuterie Board, for example, can serve anywhere from two people to 14, depending on the size you choose, with the Large containing more than 37 artisan meats, cheeses and accompaniments. You can also add on fresh honeycomb or Fishwife smoked fish. Better yet, the meat isn’t limited to traditional salami; you’ll find it peppered and black truffle-d, along with Finocchiona and chorizo in that large platter.

It’s a bit pricier than the 1-800-Baskets variety, for its size, though the quality of the selection makes up for the price. There are also some really fun cutout cheese toppers for special occasions, like “Mom” and heart shapes on the Mother’s Day platters, or “Grad” and “2026” for a graduation-themed board, making Boarderie’s creations ultra-giftable.

When I first heard someone ask for “plant-based charcuterie,” I thought crudité. A veggie platter is refreshing, but if you’re craving something heartier, Platterful’s Plant-Based Perfection Charcuterie Kit is the way to go. A video tutorial helps you arrange the board artfully, and when served to a group of 15 people, even the hardcore carnivores admitted they didn’t miss the meat. The BBQ soy jerky was such a hit people asked for pictures of the packaging so they could buy it again later. Others were shocked to learn that dairy-free cheese could be so creamy. This wasn’t a “great for being a vegan board,” this was a great board all-around. (Psst: Platterful also offers a gluten-free kit, as well as traditional kits and subscription services. And for every box shipped, the brand donates 10 meals to families in need via No Kid Hungry.)

Best for Small Groups & Date Nights

5. Goldbelly: Beauty & the Board Cheese & Charcuterie Board Kit

goldbelly

Goldbelly is a go-to for artisanal foods from all over the country, and charcuterie is no exception. There are a few vendors on the platform, but our favorite is Fort Lauderdale-based Beauty & the Board. The shop offers cheese and charcuterie boards in a few sizes, serving up to 12 people. The cheese and charcuterie kit for four to six people is the ideal size to turn into a date night meal over a bottle of wine, or serve to a small group during a book club or girls night in. The cheese just needs to be crumbled, and the brie halved, but everything else is ready to go, complete with step-by-step pictures for an Instagram-worthy assembly.

There are nice finishing touches for aesthetics, like a stalk of wheat and dried orange slices, that really take things to the next level. It also comes with a honey dipper and cheese spreader, in addition to the tray, so you’ll have everything you need when the box arrives.

Overall, the selection is pretty safe, making this a crowd-pleasing option that will appease anyone whose tastes skew more salty-creamy than funky-spicy, featuring a classic creamy brie that you top with pomegranate arils, and a sharp white cheddar, which was devoured almost instantly. The peppery salami was another runaway hit.
