In case you haven’t noticed, pickles are taking over the foodscape…again. After their initial rise to viral snackdom in the early aughts, a new wave of picklemania hit our shelves and screens in 2022 and never left. This year alone, I’ve seen everything from picklewiches (which use pickles in place of bread) and dill pickle mayonnaise to TikTok-famous chickles (aka pickles wrapped and grilled in caramelized cheese) and hot dill pickle Flamin’ Hot Cheetos cross my desk.

Now, there’s another pickley masterpiece to try, and it’s courtesy of California Pizza Kitchen.

California Pizza Kitchen’s New Menu Features an Ina Garten-Approved Ingredient That Totally Steals the Show

The famous chain restaurant just launched frozen Dill Pickle Pizza at select Target stores across the country. Available for $8.50 each (prices may vary by location), the pie starts with crispy, thin crust. It’s layered with creamy garlic sauce, gooey mozzarella cheese, crisp dill pickle chips and herbaceous dill seasoning.

I haven’t had the pleasure of tasting the pizza yet, but I can’t imagine it’s anything short of scrumptious. The garlic base and cheese are likely mild, savory and rich. The vegetal nature of the dill seasoning and the punchy acidity of the pickles would likely cut right through the heaviness of the sauce and mozz, making for a stunningly balanced bite that will make any pickle lover ask, “are you gonna eat that?”

If pickles aren’t your thing, there are other varieties of CPK ’za to keep an eye out for in the freezer aisle. Consider the basics, like margherita, pepperoni, Sicilian, four-cheese and the resto’s famous BBQ chicken. There are also hearty, less expected options, like roasted garlic chicken and Buffalo-style chicken, as well as two choices for those who favor a thicker slice. (Look for the six-cheese or double pepperoni Neapolitan crust varieties.)
