Trader Joe’s

I’ll gladly scour the shelves at Trader Joe’s year-round, but sweater season just might be my favorite time to shop at the cult-favorite grocery store, since there are tons of autumnal goodies to explore. I’m talking all the pumpkin, apple and maple delicacies you can imagine, plus cozy spiced drinks, inventive snacks, host-worthy mains (some frozen!) and unconventional condiments and desserts.

Read on for 45 Trader Joe’s fall items that I can’t wait to sink my teeth into this year, starting with 12 new products that just hit stores. Some are fancy enough to mentally bookmark for Thanksgiving, while others are designed for casual munching (and optional sharing). My favorites range from maple leaf ice cream sandwiches to gluten-free pumpkin ravioli.

How to Make a Trader Joe’s Charcuterie Board: A Food Editor’s 12 Favorite Cheeses, Meats and Accompaniments

1. Vanilla Bean Whipped Sweet Potatoes

A heat-and-eat holiday side? Don't mind if I do. Heavy cream makes them impossibly indulgent, while brown sugar, nutmeg and vanilla bean paste and seeds give it plenty of dessert-inspired flair (minus the marshmallows). BTW, there are also new Loaded Mashed Potatoes in stores, complete with sharp cheddar cheese, bacon, sour cream and scallions, in case those are more your speed.

2. Creamy Mac & Cheese

They weren't kidding—the mac is extremely creamy, and its flavor is more nuanced than the average alternative. The trio of Parm, cheddar and TJ's famous Unexpected Cheddar gives it a grassy, sharp edge that I enjoyed upon tasting it. The pasta is perfectly bite-size and al dente. Serve it with bread or another carb to soak up all the excess sauce.

3. Glazed Pumpkin Pie Spice Doughnut Holes

Not only are they festive, poppable, kid-friendly *and* scrumptious, but they're also shockingly free of both gluten and dairy. The doughnuts are made with a blend of tapioca starch, rice flour and cornstarch, along with a warming flurry of allspice, cinnamon, ginger, clove and nutmeg.

4. Maple Brown Butter Almonds

These roasted almonds are enrobed in maple-brown sugar confectionary coating, then dusted with cocoa powder and maple sugar for good measure. They're thick and crunchy (I know, because I tried them), and the coating is generous and sweet with a pancake syrup-like edge. Could they use more salty brown butter flavor? Yes. But they'd still go great with yogurt, salad or a charcuterie board.

5. Gluten-Free Cranberry Raisin Toasts

Speaking of cheese boards, these U.K.-made crackers are snappy, chewy, herby and crunchy, thanks to dried fruit, pumpkin seeds and rosemary. The tangy base is made with rice, tapioca and potato flours, as well as egg whites and buttermilk, so your wheat-sensitive guests can eat as many as they want.

6. Kettle Cooked Rosemary & Sea Salt Potato Chips

Your Black Friday turkey sandwich will taste a million times better with this seasonal snack by its side. Piney, savory and just a touch acidic, these fancy-ish chips are begging to be noshed on at a wine tasting, fall dinner party or movie night.

7. Maple Leaf Ice Cream Sandwiches

TJ's Maple Leaf Cookies are basically a seasonal delicacy, since they've been whipping them up in Canada since 2009—and they're everything you hope they'd be. They reminded me of my first maple creemee (aka Vermont soft serve) and offer vanilla-kissed pancake energy without any of that artificial syrup flavor. The cookie is also deeply maple-y and has a bit more crispness than most ice cream sandwich ends.

8. Apple Pie Spread

This tastes exactly like its namesake, only smoother and more spreadable with fewer pieces of fruit. Still, the apples are super tart and vibrant, while the base delivers all the buttery brown sugar sweetness you crave. This spread hits the spot on toast, pancakes, waffles and ice cream. You can also stir it into fizzy mocktails, soul-soothing libations and coffee drinks.

9. Pumpkin & Spice Brioche Style Liège Waffles

Egg in the dough makes these waffles denser than what you order at, say, IHOP, but don't knock 'em 'til you try 'em. Pumpkin purée, cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg spruce them up for the season, but the real star is the crunchy pearl sugar bits, dappled throughout each piece.

10. Salted Maple Cold Foam Creamer

It's 2025—of course this exists. Give your cold foam habit a fall makeover with this coffee condiment that simply requires you to shake and dispense, like whipped cream. Of course, it'll be delicious on a pecan or pumpkin latte, but you can also use it on matcha, tea (Earl Grey, anyone?), milkshakes and hot chocolate.

11. Juicy Apple Gummy Candy

Contrarians have been on Team Apple over Team Pumpkin for years. Now, there's a new way to savor your favorite flavor of autumn, courtesy of our collective grocery boo. There's something for everyone in the bag too, since it includes sweet red apple gummies *and* sour green apple gummies, each filled with a juicy liquid center.

12. Cocoa Truffles with Maple Sugar

If you're a fan of TJ's iconic cocoa truffles (yup, the ones in the red box), these are just like that, but with a dash of maple sugar added for extra warmth and crunchy intrigue. Their macaroon-like shape and cocoa coating make them feel like a rustic DIY gift. The outside curbs the sweet interior with a powdery bitterness, while the inside is balanced with a hint of salt.

13. Savory Squash Pastry Bites

These have "Thanksgiving hors d'oeuvre" written all over them...but there's no need to wait 'til November for a taste. The crispy crust is brimming with a mix of four cheeses (mascarpone, ricotta, feta and Parm) pumpkinbutternut squash and chives.

14. Pumpkin Spice Mini Sheet Cake

Ridiculously tender, generously frosted and decidedly adorable—what's not to like about this treat? The tangy cream cheese topping is a delicious pairing for spongy, warm-spiced cake. Wash it down with apple cider and thank me later.

15. Pumpkin Spice Cold Brew Coffee Concentrate

Before Starbucks takes your whole paycheck, try this autumnal joe on for size. Spiced with cinnamon, ginger, clove and nutmeg, the concentrate just needs to be cut with water or your choice of milk to be transformed into your go-to fall beverage.

16. Organic Maple Butter

What do you get when you reduce maple syrup down to its purest, most spreadable form? This creamy, sweet condiment that pairs just as seamlessly with French toast and yogurt as it does fried chicken and sharp cheddar cheese. (You can also stir it into your morning coffee...just sayin'.)

Right this way, lazy bakers. The pre-measured baking mix only requires butter, egg, milk and a good stir to turn into cookie dough. Finish each one with a cinnamon-kissed dusting of crunchy turbinado sugar, if you're feeling ambitious.

18. All-Butter Apple Shortbread Cookies

I'm betting it's impossible to only have one of these rich, crispy delights. Made in the U.K. in small batches, the cookies are packed with dried apples, apple juice concentrate and a gasp-worthy amount of butter. (Seriously: Each cookie is nearly 25 percent butter by weight.)

19. White Stilton Cheese with Apple & Pear

Whether you serve it with sliced Granny Smith apples, pear jam, seeded crackers or nothing at all, this limited-time cheese deserves a spot on your table before it disappears. It's infused with apple-pear compote, peppered with dried apple pieces and aged for six weeks until tangy and airy.

20. Pumpkin Loaf

Complete with a comforting, rustic sugar topping. Cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, ginger, clove and vanilla make this moist treat firmly autumnal. Toast it and slather it with honey butter, dip it into a PSL or nosh on it straight from the package.

21. Apple Cider Doughnuts

ICYMI, it isn’t officially fall until you scarf down one of these beauties. Made by a family-owned bakery in Western Massachusetts, the doughnuts are supremely fluffy and slightly tangy, thanks to real apple cider.

"Every year, I buy one box of apple cider doughnuts and proceed to eat them in a shameful span of maybe three days," PureWow editor of SEO and audience development Marissa Wu confesses. "I look forward to it always! [They have a] good cinnamon-sugar ratio and apple flavor. While they're not super soft, I do like the texture; it's firm with a bite to it."

22. Gluten-Free Pumpkin Ravioli

Because a wheat allergy should never stand between you and pasta. This tender ravioli is stuffed with pumpkin purée, kabocha squash and three cheeses (ricotta! Parm! mozz!). A touch of honey, brown sugar and wintry spices drive the seasonal flavor home.

23. Mini Maple-Flavored Marshmallows

In case you need a reason to extend s'mores season past Labor Day, these 'mallows are a great excuse. With a sweet, caramel-like aroma and a pillowy soft texture, you'll be shocked they're vegan and gluten-free.

24. Maple-Flavored Fudge

English butter fudge, meet maple syrup. The confection is cooked in a traditional copper pan, then cooled for two days before being cut and packaged. The results? Rich, decadent, melt-in-your-mouth deliciousness.

25. Butternut Squash Italian Lasagna

Crowned with breadcrumbs, pumpkin seeds and chives and loaded with rosemary, pepper and ginger, this nutty dish is sure to impress. The real magic lies in the velvety, smoky butternut béchamel, made from puréed carrot, butter and provola cheese (aka provolone’s unaged cousin).

26. Maple Spiced Nut Mix

Assembling an epic fall charcuterie board? This mix of dried cranberries, pepitas, maple-rosemary almonds and pecans dusted with red and black peppers will be a welcome addition. Pair the snack with buttery, sharp or herbaceous cheeses.

27. Honeycrisp Apple Granola

A cozy combination of rolled oats, dried Honeycrisp apples, honey, molasses and a flurry of fall spices, this granola would taste divine on yogurt, atop ice cream, in milk or straight out of the bag. (P.S.: Honeycrisp apples are known for their super crunchy texture and sweet flavor.)

28. Pumpkin Bisque

Chicken noodle who? If I'm sick (or perfectly healthy) this fall, I'll be leaning on this savory-sweet delight instead. A generous dose of tahini gives each spoonful a pleasant nuttiness that pairs beautifully with the creamy pumpkin base.

29. Butternut Squash Mac & Cheese

Sweet dreams are made of this. Think mezzi rigatoni pasta (which is equipped with thick ridges that hold sauce like a charm), doused in three-cheese béchamel and infused with butternut squash purée, nutmeg and sage. Best of all, it doesn’t require any prep—simply heat and eat.

30. Trader Joe’s Spiced Cider

This sweet-tart bev is a seasonal staple for a reason. (Really: TJ’s has been selling orchards' worth of the stuff for more than 20 years.) The apple base is spiced just right with cinnamon, allspice and cloves.

31. Pumpkin Joe-Joe’s Cookies

Ready a tall glass of milk, friend. These vanilla cookie sandwiches filled with pumpkin crème were a major labor of love for the TJ’s team. In fact, they tested 17 different versions before nailing the perfect batch, so you know they'll be revelatory.

32. Autumnal Harvest Creamy Pasta Sauce

Red sauce is classic…but boring after the millionth time. This twist is richer, creamier and sweeter than the usual, courtesy of pumpkin, butternut squash and carrots. With a touch of rosemary and sage, it’s pure fall heaven.

33. Spiced Chai Black Tea Concentrate

You'll want to dunk just about everything in this chai sipper, especially if you’re more into tea than fall lattes. The concentrate is steeped with allspice, black pepper, cardamom, clove, cinnamon and ginger in small batches for consistently complex, bold flavor.

34. Cinnamon Roll Blondie Bar Baking Mix

Breakfast for dinner may be more popular, but I'm a *big* fan of breakfast for dessert. The box contains everything you’ll need to prepare tender, indulgent blondies, complete with dollops of gooey cinnamon roll filling and powdered sugar icing. You'll just need to add eggs, butter and water.

35. Pumpkin O’s Cereal

This brown rice-oat cereal is made with real cane sugar, brown sugar and pumpkin, so fall fans may have a hard time not demolishing the whole box in one sitting. Serve them in a bowl with milk or toss them with pepitas, white chocolate chips and cinnamon-coated nuts for homemade trail mix.

36. Petite Pumpkin Spice Cookies

Crunchy, crumbly and adorned with white yogurt and orange pumpkin icing and sprinkles, these shortbreads are as cute as they are delicious. Nosh on them straight from the box, crumble them on ice cream or dunk them in tea.

37. Harvest Blend Herbal Tea

Now that we're on the subject of tea, this caffeine-free blend will conjure memories of leaf peeping, apple picking and bonfires of autumns past. Its flavor is apple-forward with a sweet-and-spicy finish, courtesy of cinnamon and ginger.
