Now that the sofa is in Kroll’s space and being used daily by her family, she’s even happier with the choices she made. “We chose this brand because we have a messy toddler, a baby on the way and a little dog who likes to walk in the backyard and jump straight onto the couch. This made the washable covers feel like the right choice for us,” she said, and noted that when she washed one of the cushion covers per the brand’s instructions (on a delicate cycle and left hanging to dry) it came out “wonderfully.”
As for the feel of the fabric, Kroll says the performance woven chenille “is so soft…but looks like a typical upholstery fabric.” She also shared that “the cushions are soft but dense,” and said she “was surprised how fancy and substantial they feel. [It’s] not a lightweight foam.”
She also appreciates its modular design and said it’s especially great knowing that its shape can be adjusted when her family finds their forever home. “We have it set up in a four-by-two configuration in the family room, but knowing we can make it a more typical three-by-three square, which can fit in more normal-shaped rooms in the future, made it feel like we were buying something for [the] long term and flexibility; not only what fits this room, this house, today,” she explained. She also loves that the modular sofa feels very stable: “you can lay, jump and sit without the pieces separating.”
There’s Just One Thing to Consider Before Buying
One thing to note is that this sofa is heavy—Kroll shared: “When we tried to scoot it over a couple inches just by pushing it wouldn't budge, so we had to unscrew a piece and move it in sections (which is totally fine and easy to do—they connect on the top of the seat cushion underneath the Velcro-ed seat cushion). So one person [could move it on their own], yes, but you'd have to plan a little ahead. It's not like moving a chair across the room, but separating the couch into chunks, moving over and reattaching.”
