Every October, I tell myself I’m just browsing Anthropologie’s Halloween section—and every year, I end up with a cart full of items that somehow make spooky season feel sophisticated. Where else can you find a cast aluminum cauldron candle that smells like cedar smoke and crushed clove? Or a handblown glass ghost that displays like something out of an eclectic Brooklyn boutique? Even the witch hat taper candles look more like they belong in a moody Parisian bistro than a party store. Anthro’s Halloween decor always hits that perfect balance: festive without feeling gimmicky, playful without going full kitsch.

So below, find the seven pieces I’m coveting—and adding to my little NYC coven—this year.

Anthropologie's Best New Home Arrivals for Fall Are Here

If you know, you know. These Icon glass collection has amassed thousands of glowing reviews—and Anthro just released 11 festive designs just for Halloween. The magic: a tiny icon—like a beaded pumpkin, bat or snake—is pressed in by hand using colored glass beads, giving each one the kind of texture and charm you’d expect from a much pricier vintage piece. Reviewers call them “the perfect size and thickness for a cool, iced drink” and say they’re “great to add to a collection” because the mix-and-match designs look even better in groups. And while yes, they make a killer candy-corn milkshake vessel, they also work year-round as eye candy on a bar cart or quirky juice glass at brunch. (Just remember: they’re hand-wash only and not microwave-safe.)

A seasonal twist on one of Anthropologie’s most beloved kitchen staples, this Halloween-edition Bistro Tile Canister is the kind of decor that earns you compliments long after October 31. The design nods to a vintage Parisian café—mini hex tiles, checkerboard trim and 24k gold decals—only now, it comes in “TRICKS” or “TREATS” with mosaic-style lettering and tiny Halloween motifs. The airtight lid keeps coffee beans, collagen powder or candy corn fresh—and you’ll want both sizes so you can stack “Trick” behind “Treat” like a well-dressed spell. Reviewers say they’re “perfect for the coffee bar” and “even cuter in person,” with one raving about the “sturdy stoneware and great attention to detail.”

Handblown from translucent glass with a creamy white confetti pattern, this glowing ghost gives off a soft, ethereal light that’s more Studio McGee than Spirit Halloween. The bell-shaped silhouette and speckled body give it an elevated, design-forward feel, while the fairy lights inside add a floating effect that's just the right amount of whimsical. Reviewers rave it’s “very heavyweight and large,” with one noting, “it glows from the top to the bottom—so cute with other decor.” Available in two sizes, it’s the perfect blend of sweet and spooky, especially when styled with neutral candles or perched on a bookshelf.

Think of this as the candle equivalent of a bubbling potion: hand-poured into a black cast aluminum cauldron that looks like it was salvaged from a Salem apothecary. The vessel alone is a vibe—thick, matte and just distressed enough to pass as an heirloom. Inside, it’s scented with a moody autumnal blend of wicked apple, crushed clove and cedar smoke—warm, spicy and just sweet enough to soften the edge without veering into perfume territory. The small size (10 ounces) has a single wick and a 40-hour burn time, while the large (40 ounce) burns up to 75 hours with three wicks. I plan to light mine on October 1st and let it carry me straight through to Thanksgiving.

Designed by Oscar-winning set designer Catherine Martin, these tasseled pillows toe the line between decadent and eerie. One features a gold-embroidered spider centered in a hand-stitched web; the other is a rich auburn velvet scattered with moths—both crafted from plush poly fill with cushion included. Inspired by 19th-century anatomical illustrations, they also feel straight out of a Victorian cabinet of curiosities. I’d style the round spider pillow as a moody focal point on a chaise or window bench, and layer the moth version into a mix of oxblood and tobacco velvets across your bed or sofa. With fringe trim and just the right amount of theatrical flair, they’re a chic way to nod to spooky season—no novelty prints required.

No kitsch, all charm: These hand-painted taper candles take the shape of tall, pointy witches’ hats—complete with tiny orange buckles—for a Halloween tablescape that’s more “designer vignette” than haunted house. Handmade from paraffin wax with cotton wicks, they’re unscented and burn for up to 15 hours, fitting standard 1-inch taper holders. Each set includes two 10-inch candles, and when paired with brass holders or a moody centerpiece, they read more Parisian apothecary than party store

7. Rattan Bat

Anthropologie

Handwoven from rattan and finished in matte black, these bats are what you'd get if Nancy Meyers directed Twilight. Available in three sizes (up to 26 inches wide), they bring a sculptural, artisan-made twist to Halloween décor—especially when staged mid-flight on a gallery wall, windowpane or dangling from a tree branch indoors. They’re substantial in size (one reviewer swears they’re too beautiful to take down post-October), lightweight to hang and sturdy enough for a covered porch—just don’t leave them out in the rain unless you’re going for a soggy bat cave vibe.
