Dasha Burobina for PureWow

Drew Barrymore’s Beautiful line at Walmart has earned a reputation for doing what few kitchen appliances can: looking so chic you don’t mind having them take up valuable counterspace, and without the steep price tag of other high-end brands. The collection, which includes everything from air fryers to stand mixers, leans hard into soft matte finishes (sage green, black sesame, icing white) with brass-inspired hardware and touch-activated displays that disappear when not in use. But the real question is: Do they perform as well as they photograph?

To find out, I recruited a handful of PureWow staffers—myself included—to put the brand’s most popular appliances to the test. The verdict? While nearly every item had something to love, three standouts earned especially high praise: the Digital Air Fry Toaster Oven (with ten preset functions and infrared technology that preheats 80 percent faster than a conventional oven), the Ice Cream Maker with Touch-Activated Display (which churns out smooth, creamy scoops in under 30 minutes), and the 10-in-1 Electric Multi-Cooker (a true do-it-all machine that sautés, steams, braises and even makes rice—while looking downright gorgeous in sage green). Ahead, the full report on what’s worth adding to your own countertop lineup.

How We Tested the Best Beautiful by Drew Kitchen Items

To put Drew Barrymore’s Beautiful kitchen line to the test, each staffer was assigned a specific item to use in their own kitchen over the course of several weeks—whether that meant air frying late-night snacks, slow cooking soup on a Sunday, or whipping up homemade ice cream on a random Tuesday. Our testers filled out a detailed feedback form for each product, rating it across five key categories: value, ease of use, quality, aesthetic and functionality (with a total possible score of 100). We also asked testers to share what they specifically loved—and where the appliance fell short—using their own words and real-life examples.

To that end, while we focused on first-person testing to ensure honest, hands-on reviews, we also cross-referenced each product’s customer ratings on Walmart to see how our experiences stacked up against broader feedback. Ultimately, rankings were determined by a combination of each appliance’s scores and standout features that made it feel genuinely worth the counter space.

1. Beautiful by Drew Barrymore Air Fry Toaster Oven with Infrared Technology

What We Like

  • 10 cooking functions, including slow cook, dehydrate, and air fry
  • Fits a 12” pizza, 9 slices of toast, or a 9x13-inch casserole
  • Preheats 80 percent faster than a conventional oven
  • Dishwasher-safe accessories (air fry basket, bake pan, wire rack)

What We Don't Like

  • Requires four inches of clearance around the unit while cooking
  • Bulkier than a traditional toaster oven—may not suit very small kitchens

Walmart

  • Value: 19/20
  • Ease of Use: 20/20
  • Quality: 18/20
  • Aesthetic: 19/20
  • Functionality: 20/20

TOTAL: 96/100

At first glance, PureWow VP of Editorial Candace Davison was concerned about sacrificing nearly two feet of counter space to accommodate this new toaster oven (and the requisite clearance from the wall it required). “It wound up replacing multiple appliances, so I actually saved a little space,” she shares. “With its sleek, matte black finish and clean lines, I don’t mind it one bit.” Fast forward a year, and it’s become her most-used kitchen appliance. With ten preset cooking functions—including toast, bagel, air fry, broil, bake, pizza, reheat, cookies, slow cook and dehydrate—it can handle everything from breakfast to dinner without breaking a sweat. “It’s replaced my air fryer and regular toaster. I reheat bagels and toast burger buns at least once a week, and I use it to air fry everything from frozen fries and nuggets to homemade meals. It preheats so quickly that it’s become a go-to for Saturday morning bacon-and-egg sandwich breakfasts,” she adds.

To that end, Davison especially loved that it was “easy to note when it’s preheating and how much time is left for things to cook”—something her old air fryer sorely lacked. The 15-liter capacity is large enough to fit a 12-inch pizza, nine slices of toast, or a 9- by 13-inch casserole dish, and the quartz-infrared technology offers an 80 percent faster preheat time compared to a conventional oven. Plus, it has a slew of thoughtful features, like the adjustable three-speed convection fan, touch-activated display, removable crumb tray, and dishwasher-safe accessories (including an air fry basket, bake pan, and wire rack). The only downside? “The challenge of having a larger air fryer is the flip side: how much precious counter space it takes up, along with the four inches of clearance it needs around it when cooking.” Still, as Candace puts it, that’s “a ‘me’ problem”—because the appliance itself “works exactly as expected.”

What We Like

  • 4 preset functions plus manual temp and time adjustments
  • 6-quart capacity fits up to 5 pounds of food
  • Basket and crisping tray are dishwasher-safe
  • Touch-activated display blends seamlessly into the design

What We Don't Like

  • Glossy finish is prone to fingerprints
  • Some peeling noticed on the drawer edge after prolonged use
  • Best for one to two people (larger households may prefer the 9-quart model)

Walmart

  • Value: 19/20

Next up: Another air fryer review from yours truly. I’m someone who would prefer to use my oven for storage, but this machine was simple (and gorgeous) enough to win an anti-chef like me over. At under $60, the 6-quart capacity is surprisingly generous, and it handled everything from Totino’s pizza rolls to breakfast sausages and cookie dough squares without skipping a beat. I loved that there was no preheating necessary—just tap the power button, choose from air fry, roast, reheat or dehydrate—and either use the preset time/temp or manually adjust. (For pizza rolls, I did 400 degrees fahrenheit for 8 minutes; for sausage links, 360 degrees for 10 minutes with a shake halfway through; and for cookies, 320 degrees for 4 minutes with parchment paper.) The interface is intuitive, the basket is roomy, and the crisping tray is super easy to clean—both are dishwasher-safe, though I usually just rinse them by hand.

Still, a few things to note: The glossy white finish looks gorgeous but does attract fingerprints, and after a few months of use, I noticed the plastic on the drawer edge starting to peel a bit. That said, it hasn’t impacted performance. For someone like me—who wants minimal cleanup, quick dinners and countertop appliances that aren’t eyesores—this has become a go-to. I’d recommend it for anyone cooking for one or two people. If you’re feeding a family or want to cook two things at once, though, I’d consider sizing up to the 9-quart TriZone model for dual baskets and bigger batches.

Fast Facts

  • Capacity: 6 quarts (5 lbs of food)
  • Dimensions: Approx. 12.3" L x 14.4" W x 12.8" H
  • Material: Nonstick-coated crisping tray and basket, plastic exterior
  • Wattage: 1750 watts
  • Warranty: Limited two-year warranty

What We Like

  • Churns ice cream, sorbet, or gelato in about 30 minutes
  • Flip-up lid makes it easy to add mix-ins mid-cycle
  • Compact size stores easily—bowl fits in most freezers
  • No need for pods or special ingredients

What We Don't Like

  • Loud during operation
  • Bowl requires at least 12 hours of freezer time before use

Walmart

  • Ease of Use: 19/20
  • Quality: 20/20
  • Aesthetic: 20/20

When Aly Cantor, associate manager of the influencer team at Gallery Media Group, decided to test this ice cream maker for a cozy night in with her roommate, she wasn’t sure what to expect. But after one batch of homemade protein chocolate milk Reese’s ice cream (her “healthy” twist on a classic), she was fully sold. “It came out smooth and delicious in only 30ish minutes,” Aly shares, noting that the machine made enough for both of them to have two small bowls. She especially loved how easy it was to mix in add-ins like chopped Reese’s halfway through the cycle thanks to the flip-up lid—“I chopped up and added the Reese’s about 15 minutes in.”

Beyond the results, the ease of use was a standout: “All you had to do was make sure the main bowl is cold for at least 12 hours and that your base is cold.” She points out that it’s notably faster than her previous Ninja model, which required 24 hours of freezing. Now, she simply keeps the bowl in her freezer so it’s always ready when the craving strikes. The touchscreen display with three preset functions (ice cream, sorbet, and gelato) plus a digital countdown timer made the process feel foolproof, while the compact 1.5-quart design fit perfectly in her small apartment—“It fits under my sink with all of my other kitchen appliances and cleaning supplies.” Her only gripe? “Noise-wise, it is loud. I had to turn my TV up a significant amount in order to listen to my show while making the ice cream—but the good news is that it isn’t that long of a process.”

Fast Facts

  • Capacity: 1.5-quart capacity; makes frozen treats for two to four people
  • Dimensions: 8.66" L x 8.66" W x 10.04" H
  • Material: Metal housing with double-wall insulated freezing bowl
  • Wattage: 15 watts
  • Warranty: Two-year limited warranty

4. Beautiful by Drew Barrymore 10-in-1 Electric Multi-Cooker

What We Like

  • 10 cooking functions, including sear, sauté, slow cook, braise, steam, rice and simmer
  • Oven-safe nonstick pot (up to 400°F) and glass steam tray for dumplings
  • ‘Keep Warm’ function holds temperature for up to 2 hours after cooking

What We Don't Like

  • Control panel can be confusing at first (start/power button not super intuitive)
  • Opaque lid means you can’t check on food without opening the pot

Walmart

  • Value: 20/20
  • Ease of Use: 18/20
  • Quality: 17/20
  • Aesthetic: 20/20

If you're the type of person who wants your appliances to pull double duty—function and look good doing it—PureWow’s associate SEO editor Marissa Wu says this one's for you. “I thought, damn, this is the nicest multi-cooker I've ever set eyes on,” she admits, adding that the sage green color was “just gorgeous” and matched the rest of her kitchen perfectly. But while the exterior was what initially caught her eye, it was the multi-cooker's all-in-one design and wide-ranging presets that won her over. The digital touchscreen menu disappears when not in use and lights up with seven pre-programmed modes (sear/sauté, slow cook, braise, simmer, steam, rice, keep warm), all of which allow you to customize temperature and time if desired. And to test it out, Wu and her roommate sautéed ground beef for tacos, braised fish, slow-cooked chicken soup and experimented with the rice function—all with impressive results. “It was super easy to sauté, and then I dumped in a ton of onions, carrots and celery with no issue.” She particularly loved the deep non-stick pan (ideal for minimizing splatter), the glass steam tray (perfect for dumplings), and the fact that the insert could go directly into the oven for broiling or top-browning up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

“I like that I could set it and forget it, and it would beep when done,” she adds, noting that it automatically switches to a two-hour ‘Keep Warm’ mode after cooking. The rice function—while requiring a bit of a learning curve—was also a win: “We were VERY skeptical about the rice cooking function…but in the end, Drew Barrymore…won us over?!” That said, Wu did mention that the buttons took a second to figure out (“I still have no idea how the start button works, but I think it’s the power button?”) and she wished the lid were glass so she could check on food without letting heat escape. Still, for anyone looking to replace a slow cooker, rice maker, sauté pan, and steamer in one fell swoop, she says it “totally exceeded my expectations.”

Fast Facts

  • Capacity: 6-quart oven-safe nonstick cooking pan
  • Dimensions: 14.41" L x 11.61" W x 9.53" H
  • Material: Metal housing with aluminum nonstick pot and glass steam tray
  • Wattage: 1000 watts
  • Warranty: Two-year limited warranty

5. Beautiful by Drew Barrymore Hot Air Popcorn Maker

What We Like

  • Pops up to 16 cups of popcorn in 2 to 3 minutes
  • Uses cyclonic air flow—no oil required for popping
  • Butter melting tray doubles as a measuring cup
  • Compact size with cord wrap for easy storage

What We Don't Like

  • Butter tray doesn’t fully melt butter by the time popcorn is ready
  • No timer or indicator light—requires manual attention to avoid burning

Walmart

  • Value: 18/20
  • Ease of Use: 20/20
  • Quality: 17/20
  • Aesthetic: 20/20
  • Functionality: 17/20

For PureWow associate editor Nakeisha Campbell, this popcorn maker checked all the right boxes from the moment she unboxed it. “It looks exactly like what I saw advertised, which is great. It's not too big or bulky—the size was perfect for my small countertop,” she shares. Setup was just as effortless: “After turning the popcorn maker on, I used the butter tray as my measuring cap and poured in a cap-full of kernels. After replacing the butter tray on top, I added a few slices of solid butter to melt as the popcorn popped. After about two minutes, the kernels started popping and I had a bowl full of air-popped popcorn in no time.” The popcorn maker uses cyclonic air flow technology to pop up to 16 cups of fresh popcorn in just minutes—with no oil required—making it an easy, healthier choice for movie nights. Campbell especially appreciated the speed and simplicity: “It’s super easy to use, just as long as you follow the instructions to a T. And I like that it’s relatively quick (2-3 minutes).”

The built-in butter melting tray (which doubles as the measuring cup) was also a nice touch, though she noted that “the butter-melting was not a complete success”—the butter softened, but didn’t fully liquefy by the time the popcorn was ready. She also pointed out that there’s no timer or indicator light, so “it’s better to hover for a bit and gauge when it’s ready by listening for fewer kernel pops.” Still, with its one-touch operation, unique popping chute to guide popcorn directly into the bowl, cord wrap for easy storage and sleek matte finish, this pick easily earned its place on her counter.

Fast Facts

  • Capacity: Makes up to 16 cups of fresh popcorn
  • Dimensions: 6.42" L x 8.27" W x 11.50" H
  • Material: Metal housing with soft matte premium finish

  • 7 adjustable browning settings for custom crispiness
  • Nonstick plates allow for easy waffle release
  • Fold-in handle and built-in cord wrap for compact storage

What We Don't Like

  • Batter doesn’t always distribute evenly across plates
  • Lightweight build feels less durable; may not withstand drops

  • Value: 17/20
  • Ease of Use: 20 /20
  • Quality: 15/20
  • Aesthetic: 17/20
  • Functionality: 18/20

If there’s one thing Vincent Gervasi, ad operations associate at Gallery Media Group, learned from testing this waffle maker, it’s that you don’t have to be a brunch expert—or even particularly good in the kitchen—to pull off a crowd-pleasing Belgian waffle. “It was incredibly easy to use. Just fill it with batter, flip, and serve. No weird buttons or confusing controls,” he shares. “We didn't spray cooking spray inside of it and the waffles actually didn't stick once they were done,” he adds, crediting the non-stick plates (made without PFOA or PFOS) for the seamless release. The rotating mechanism helped ensure evenly cooked waffles every time, while seven adjustable browning settings let him dial in the crispiness to his liking. That said, he did note that while the waffles “tasted great,” the batter didn’t always distribute perfectly, sometimes leaving gaps in the corners.

As for the aesthetic, Gervasi loved how the appliance brought “a pop of color” to his kitchen, calling out the standout purple shade against his granite countertops. The lightweight build also made it easy to move around, though he flagged that “the material felt a little flimsy, like it wouldn’t survive even the smallest fall.” Still, the thoughtful details—from the fold-in handle and built-in cord wrap for compact storage to the dishwasher-safe removable drip tray—made the overall experience feel simple and fuss-free, from flipping to cleanup.

Fast Facts

  • Capacity: Makes five 1-inch-thick Belgian waffles at once
  • Dimensions: 10.43" L x 14.25" W x 8.67" H
  • Material: Metal housing with non-stick coated plates (PFOA- and PFOS-free)

7. Beautiful by Drew Barrymore 5.3-Quart Tilt-Head Stand Mixer

What We Like

  • Large 5.3-quart bowl mixes up to 9 dozen cookies at once
  • 12-speed tilt-head design with simple locking system
  • Includes beater, whisk, dough hook, and splash shield (all dishwasher-safe)
  • Compact enough for small kitchens but still substantial for batch baking

What We Don't Like

  • Suction cups on the base make it harder to move around the counter
  • Batter occasionally sticks to the bowl edges—requires scraping mid-mix

Walmart

  • Value: 18/20
  • Ease of Use: 19/20
  • Quality: 19/20
  • Aesthetic: 19/20
  • Functionality: 18/20

TOTAL: 93/100

The first thing PureWow executive managing editor Catrina Yohay wants you to know about this stand mixer? That you don’t have to be an experienced baker to use it. “It’s very user-friendly and intuitive—and definitely not as intimidating as some other brands,” she shares, adding that she christened the machine with a homemade strawberry cake and cream cheese frosting. Thanks to the simple locking system, tilt-head design, and 12 clearly marked speed settings, she was able to lift and lower the head easily, lock the bowl securely in place, and walk away to prep her next steps. “Compared to a hand mixer, I loved that I could just fire it up and walk away to measure out more ingredients or start the cleanup process,” she says. She also highlights the dishwasher-safe accessories and included beater, whisk, dough hook, and splash shield as major pros, not to mention the sleek black sesame finish that felt “sophisticated without being over-the-top.”

That said, Yohay did flag a few drawbacks: “While mixing, I noticed the distance between the bowl and beater attachment might not have been perfectly aligned—the batter wasn’t getting properly incorporated, and I had to stop and scrape the bowl a few times.” She also noted that the suction cups on the bottom (meant to limit shaking at high speeds) made the appliance harder to move around. Still, between the generous 5.3-quart bowl (ideal for batch-baking) and the thoughtful accessory lineup, she calls it “a really great deal for $100”—especially if you’re looking for a mixer that doubles as countertop decor.

Fast Facts

  • Capacity: 5.3-quart polished stainless steel bowl (mixes up to 9 dozen cookies)
  • Dimensions: 13.39" L x 8.07" W x 13.31" H
  • Material: Metal housing with BPA-free, dishwasher-safe removable accessories
  • Wattage: 300 watts
  • Warranty: Two-year limited warranty

8. Beautiful by Drew Barrymore Perfect Grind Single Serve Coffee Maker

What We Like

  • Built-in burr grinder for whole beans or grounds (no pods needed)
  • Adjustable brew sizes from 6 to 16 ounces
  • Touch-activated display stays hidden until use
  • 64-ounce removable water reservoir with adjustable drip tray

What We Don't Like

  • Learning curve for figuring out the control panel (power/start button confusion)
  • Single-serve design may not suit multi-coffee-drinker households

Walmart

  • Value: 17/20
  • Ease of Use: 17/20
  • Quality: 20/20
  • Aesthetic: 20/20
  • Functionality: 17/20

TOTAL: 91/100

First thing’s first: This single-serve machine is all about freshness and convenience, courtesy of its integrated burr grinder, which auto-grinds the exact amount of beans for your selected cup size or brew strength (regular, bold or over ice). You can also skip the grind and use grounds instead—no pods or paper filters required, thanks to the included reusable gold tone filter. Madeline Merinuk, PureWow assistant editor of branded content, especially appreciated that flexibility, noting: “I like that it takes grounds or whole beans for a bolder drinking experience, and not pods or K-cups, which really dilute the coffee’s flavor.” Other thoughtful details also include a 64-ounce removable water reservoir, a drip tray that adjusts to fit a 7-inch tumbler, and a touch-activated display that stays hidden until you need it. The design, she adds, was a major win: “It was so beautiful (no pun intended), and it looks great on my kitchen counter. My kitchen is relatively small, so I love that it's compact (and looks pretty too)…the stark white color really brightens the space up.”

Yet, while the aesthetic earned this machine a perfect score, the usability wasn’t quite as seamless. “It’s not difficult to use, but the functionality and user experience can tend to be a bit confusing,” Madeline admits. As a self-proclaimed lazy coffee drinker who typically leans on her “ol’ reliable” $20 Mr. Coffee pot, the extra steps involved with the Beautiful machine took some getting used to. Still, once she got the hang of it, she was impressed: “The coffee tastes great coming out of it.” Her only other caveat? If you’re not living solo, the single-serving function may not fully meet your household’s caffeine demands. “I don’t live alone, so the single-serving function doesn’t really work for my coffee-drinking boyfriend and I—we definitely prefer to just make a big pot. However, if you live alone, or live with someone who isn’t a coffee connoisseur, this likely would be a good investment for you.”

Fast Facts

  • Capacity: 64 oz. removable water reservoir; adjustable brew sizes from 6 to 16 oz
  • Dimensions: 10.87" L x 8.27" W x 14.06" H
  • Material: Metal housing with gold tone reusable filter
  • Wattage: 1000 watts
  • Warranty: Two-year limited warranty

Frequently Asked Questions

What Is the Most Popular Beautiful by Drew Kitchen Item?

According to the brand’s landing page at Walmart, the 6-Quart Digital Air Fryer consistently ranks as one of the top-selling items in the Beautiful by Drew collection. It’s easy to see why: Between the under-$70 price tag, the generous capacity (it holds up to five pounds of food), and the sleek touch-activated display that disappears when not in use, it’s designed to appeal to both the countertop minimalist and the late-night pizza roll enthusiast. In fact, the air fryer has been such a hit that the brand has since expanded the lineup to include the larger 9-Quart TriZone Air Fryer, which features dual cooking baskets for even more flexibility.

Which Beautiful by Drew Kitchen Items Aren’t Worth It?

Here’s the thing: While the Beautiful line delivers on aesthetics across the board, not every item nailed the functionality side of things in our testing. The Rotating Belgian Waffle Maker, for example, impressed with its lightweight design and easy-to-use rotating mechanism, but our tester noted that the batter didn’t always distribute evenly across the plates—sometimes leaving the edges of the waffles a little sparse. Similarly, the Hot Air Popcorn Maker popped quickly and efficiently, but the built-in butter tray struggled to fully melt the butter before the popcorn was done (so if buttery movie-theater-style popcorn is your goal, you may need a workaround). Are they deal-breakers? Not necessarily—but they’re worth keeping in mind, depending on what you’re looking for.

How Are Beautiful by Drew Kitchen Items So Affordable?

Part of what makes the Beautiful line stand out is that it’s designed exclusively for Walmart, which allows the brand to leverage Walmart’s scale and supply chain efficiencies to keep prices down without cutting corners on design. By focusing on direct-to-retail distribution (rather than going through multiple middlemen), they’re able to offer appliances with high-end finishes—think soft matte coatings, brass-inspired hardware, and touch-activated displays—at a fraction of the price you’d expect from similar-looking models. The products are also manufactured with a mix of premium-feel materials (like metal housings and nonstick-coated inserts) and cost-effective components where it makes sense (like plastic detailing on non-essential parts), striking that sweet spot between function, form and affordability.
