De'Longhi

It’s a small espresso machine for beginners from a well-reputed brand that’s been making similar appliances for more than 30 years. Aesthetically, the Dedica Duo boasts traditional Italian style in a compact package, meaning you can fit it on your kitchen counter without sacrificing too much space. It comes with everything you need to make real-deal espresso drinks (like hot and iced lattes, Americanos, cappuccinos and even espresso martinis), like a tamper, portafilter, measuring scoop and filter baskets. It’s also equipped with Cold Extraction Technology, which allows the machine can also craft a custom cold brew in less than five minutes.

Use of the machine is super customizable. For instance, you can set the brewing temp to low, medium or high, choose one of three filters, pick auto-off setting to save energy and make one or two cups of coffee at a time. The steam wand can also be used in a myriad of ways to achieve the perfect microfoam for your palate, and the removeable drip tray makes it easy to clean. It’s also adjustable to accommodate short and tall drinks alike.

One thing that may take getting used to? Pods (ESE pods specifically, or Ease Serve Espresso) are recommended to pull fresh shots. You can find them online, as well as at major supermarket chains and small coffee shops. However, you can also use pre-ground coffee or espresso and tamp it yourself.

Our De’Longhi Dedica Duo Review

“This espresso machine is absolutely worth the investment,” Klugerman claims. “I was genuinely impressed by the quality and smoothness of the espresso it produces. It also makes cold brew—something I’ve never seen in an at-home machine before. Being able to make both hot and cold coffee drinks with the same device is a total game-changer for me.”

She says that it was a cinch to put together, too. “Setup was quick and straightforward. After a few rinse cycles, the machine was ready to go. I spent about 10 to 15 minutes following the setup instructions, and after that, it’s been incredibly easy to craft my own drinks. Now, I can make a high-quality coffee in about two minutes.”

Not only is it easy to get started, but you can count on the Dedica Duo to make something tasty every time. “After using it daily for a week, I can say every cup had been consistently delicious, from the very first one,” Klugerman says. “While I love the hot espresso, my favorite feature is the cold brew at the touch of a button. It’s a standout option, especially during the summer when I crave more cold drinks. It really feels like getting two machines in one.”

Best of all, it can fit into nearly any kitchen or living space. “The design is perfect for my NYC apartment. It’s compact, sleek and modern with chrome accents that make it look high-end on a small counter. It doesn’t take up much space, but it still makes a big impression.”

The Bottom Line

If you’re trying to save on buying coffee elsewhere or want to learn to froth up the cutest latte art you’ve ever seen, an at-home espresso machine is a great solution. This one is known for its ability to make hot and cold drinks, so you’ll be covered year-round, and its compact shape makes it a solid option for all sorts of living situations.
