I Was So Distracted by Princess Charlotte's Signature Move That I Totally Missed Prince George's Fan Moment

The heat was intense

This year’s Wimbledon was filled with noteworthy appearances from the royal family. From Queen Camilla making a surprise pop-up at the quarter-final matchup between Belinda Bencic and Mirra Andreeva, to Duchess Sarah Ferguson and Princess Beatrice appearing on the first day of the tournament to watch Carlos Alcaraz take on Fabio Fognini and 10-year-old Princess Charlotte busting out her tried-and-true “Charlotte Wave” during the championship matchup, the tournament truly delivered on all fronts. Speaking of Princess Charlotte’s signature wave, I was so distracted by the move, that I almost missed Prince George’s battle with the intense UK summer heat.

The average temperature in London during the tournament was between 70 and 85 degrees, and poor Prince George was wearing a three-piece suit, which had to be sweltering.

Luckily, he had a fan with him to help with the situation, but that didn’t stop him from looking irritated at times, which is understandable considering the circumstances. Prince George wasn’t alone in his plight, however, as Princess Charlotte and Kate had their fans with them as well.

They were dressed a little cooler, however, as the Princess of Wales opted for a blue short-sleeved dress, and Princess Charlotte wore a white and black ruffled maxi dress.

As for dad, Prince William, he seemed completely unbothered by the heat, as he sported a navy blue cashmere blazer from Ralph Lauren and beige chinos, and didn't even break out into a sweat.

While Wimbledon has provided us with plenty of sightings and royal news, another big event is on the horizon: Meghan Markle is set to celebrate her 44th birthday on Monday, August 4. Former royal butler Grant Harrold gave his thoughts on what fans can expect.

"As far as the Royal Family congratulating or wishing a happy birthday, I believe the King and Queen will wish her a happy birthday. I think Catherine as well, but Catherine might do it on behalf of her and William," he said.

With Markle’s birthday right around the corner, there is plenty more to come from the royals over the next week, it seems.
