I recently rewatched Practical Magic with my kids, and they fell in love with the combination of thrills and romance in the storyline, as well as the charming on-screen personalities. I already knew those aspects of the movie were great, so this time, I just fell in love with that house. Indeed, the Practical Magic house has timeless appeal and so much character that I wish I could recreate it in my Brooklyn apartment. Alas, that’s not likely to happen. But with the sequel, Practical Magic 2, hitting theaters September 11 (Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman return, alongside newcomers Maisie Williams and Joey King), now seemed like a better time than ever to round up some of the most enchantingly similar vacation rentals instead. Without further ado, here’s a list of the best Practical Magic Airbnbs to consider for your next escape. All are great places to sip a Midnight Marg.

1. Black Walnut Farm (Saugerties, New York)

Airbnb

  • Sleeps: 8
  • Price: from $920/night
  • Why We Love It: historic, sun room, antique decor, cottage core vibes

This gorgeous ivy-covered farmhouse was built by Dutch settlers back in the 1700s and boasts lush gardens, antique decorative touches and a lovingly maintained interior. My favorite part of the house has to be the sun room (pictured above), which features swoon-worthy ‘cottage core’ decor, plenty of greenery in terracotta pots and a seemingly ancient wood-burning fireplace. The kitchen is decorated with a collection of copper pots and pans and the dining room has a large farm table and an antique china collection. Stay here and you will feel like you stepped onto the set of Practical Magic.

2. Hudson Valley Charming Farmhouse (Copake, New York)

Airbnb

  • Sleeps: 10
  • Rate: from $356/night
  • Why We Love It: architectural design, rustic interior, herb and flower garden, large outdoor area

Yet another farm stay, this Hudson Valley charmer stands out for its rustic-chic, sun-drenched interior, unique architectural details (think: exposed ceiling beams and exposed brick) and sprawling backyard with an herb and flower garden. (And planters that are just the right size for a violent ex-boyfriend.) Oh, and in case you were wondering, there is indeed a large farm table in the dining area.

3. Library Room in Historic Mansion (Plattsburgh, NY)

Airbnb

  • Sleeps: 2
  • Rate: from $102/night
  • Why We Love It: historic, Victorian design, library room, couple’s retreat

Here, another historic mansion with a Victorian-era design that’s reminiscent of the moodier side of the Practical Magic house. This particular rental is for a single private room with an attached bathroom, as the mansion has been converted into a hotel of sorts. The room listed here is the library room of the house, so you might even find a spellbook in your sleeping quarters, and guests do have access to other shared and oh-so historic common areas during their stay.

4. Haywood Farmhouse (New Paltz, NY)

Airbnb

  • Sleeps: 5
  • Rate: from $723/night
  • Why We Love It: architectural details, rustic design, lush gardens, large outdoor area

One of my favorite properties on the list, and one that has a perfect five star rating to boot, this New Paltz farmhouse has a charming white exterior like the Practical Magic house and a grand and beautifully landscaped pathway that leads to a sprawling, covered porch. Highlights of the interior include painted wainscoting and rustic, exposed ceiling beams and a large farm table in the dining area. Outside you will find a massive private yard with grass, lush gardens and an outdoor swing where you can sit and wait for Gary Hallet (i.e., the detective in the movie, played by Aidan Quinn) to pay you a visit.

5. Tucker Farm House (Limington, Maine)

Airbnb

  • Sleeps: 10
  • Rate: from $809/night
  • Why We Love It: scenic, waterfront, large outdoor area, rustic interior

Located on the banks of the beautiful Saco River, this lovely farm house has lots of Practical Magic appeal—including a generously-sized, wraparound porch and a sprawling, grassy backyard that’s big enough to bury multiple bodies. As for the interior, there are exposed beams throughout, a large and light-drenched kitchen with wainscoting and rustic charm, an open concept living space with some moodier details, and a massive farm table in the dining area (a must for fans of the movie).

6. 1898 Victorian (Shelbyville, Indiana)

Airbnb

  • Sleeps: 10
  • Rate: from $951/night
  • Why We Love It: historic, Victorian architecture, large porch, antique decor, large outdoor area

This breathtaking Victorian mansion is a historic gem and a decidedly magical stay. The interior is filled with an extensive collection of antiques and oddities, as well as incredible woodworking and craftsmanship throughout. There’s also a very large wraparound porch for entertaining and a generously-sized private backyard. If you’re looking for the historic Victorian-meets-Gothic feel of the Practical Magic house, you’ll find it here.

7. Historic LeSourd House (Coupeville, Washington)

Airbnb

  • Sleeps: 6
  • Rate: from $397/night
  • Why We Love It: prime location for fans of the film, historic, lush gardens, large private yard, library, sea views

This Victorian beauty is one of the iconic “Lovejoy” houses in Coupeville, Washington—and in case you weren’t aware that is, in fact, the town where many of the scenes from Practical Magic were filmed. Located within Ebey’s Landing National Historical Reserve on Whidbey Island, this waterfront property boasts richly colored interior design (i.e., lots of burgundy), a library and a splendid private yard with lush landscaping and flowers galore. Plus, the sea views might even look quite familiar to fans of the movie.

8. Cottage On a Private Lagoon (Coupeville, Washington)

Airbnb

  • Sleeps: 6
  • Rate: from $274/night
  • Why We Love It: historic, prime location for fans of the film, waterfront, private lagoon

Here, another excellent option for folks who want to stay as close to the actual film location of Practical Magic as possible. This charming cottage in Coupeville, also located in Ebey’s Preserve, sits on a private lagoon, so you can enjoy water views from the large deck. The interior is a wonderful combination of rustic and modern, with farmhouse-inspired dining areas and a large kitchen with glass cabinets much the ones seen in the movie.

9. Victoria’s House at Rose Farm (Norwalk, Iowa)

Airbnb

  • Sleeps: 8
  • Rate: from $296/night
  • Why We Love It: vintage decorative touches, rustic charm, large outdoor area, rose bushes and flower gardens

The interior of this house on Rose Farm is pretty special and has loads of vintage charm. The dining room features a large, rustic farm table and antique plates on the wall; the kitchen is large and sunny; and the bedrooms have Victorian flare and desks with warm task lamps. It might not be the spitting image of the Practical Magic house, but there are plenty of similarities, including a large outdoor area where (as the name suggests) you’re highly likely to find some rose bushes.

10. 1850 Farm Retreat (Perth, Canada)

Airbnb

  • Sleeps: 8
  • Rate: from $322/night
  • Why We Love It: farm stay, fairy garden, rustic interior, scenic location, large outdoor area, library

Cross the border for a truly special farm stay at this retreat in Perth—a bucolic and family-friendly stay (in fact, adults-only bookings aren’t allowed) with many of the design touches that make the Practical Magic house so special, including a rustic farm table, glass cabinets and a second living room with a library. Best of all, the expansive yard has a gazebo and even a fairy garden, so you might discover some magic yourself.

11. Old Smock Windmill (Kent, England)

Airbnb

  • Sleeps: 2
  • Rate: from $341/night
  • Why We Love It: restored historic property, copper basin sink, washer/dryer, balcony, walking distance to village

With Practical Magic 2 taking us across the pond, an English Airbnb is a must. The clapboard siding of the Old Smock Windmill has a coastal New England feel, and is close to the southern British port town of Rye on the English Channel. The seaside town of Hastings is also a half-hour's drive, where its fishing huts and Jerwood Gallery of contemporary art are renowned local attractions.

The home itself has all the old-world charm of exposed brick, oak stairs, copper basins and a buffet stuffed with china. It feels like a refuge from the ills of the outside world, whether or not you're being chased down by a family curse. Other amenities include a balcony, garden (take a sit under the old apple tree), gas wood-burning stove and well equipped kitchen.

12. Bryn Eglur (Carmarthen, Wales)

Airbnb

  • Sleeps: 4
  • Rate: from $193/night
  • Why We Love It: traditional cottage filled with antiques, The World of Interiors standout property

If the Owens sisters had been British, Bryn Eglur would have been an excellent stand-in for their family home. This charming, historic and well-preserved Welsh cottage has a whitewashed exterior, but in gritty stone instead of a coastal clapboard. The interior itself feels magical, a portal back in time. Built in 1755, the cottage has been meticulously preserved and restored. Think exposed beams and warm woods; the home is peppered with Welsh antiques.

Bryn Eglur sits on a secluded and rather remote piece of land in Carmarthenshire, though the train station in Carmarthen is just a 20-minute drive. Low light pollution means that the stars are bright and clear, making stargazing a perfect way to cap off a day of exploring the Pembrokeshire or Cradiganshire coast and countryside. The medieval towns of  Narbeth and Llandeilo are also near, offering a wealth of local shops.
